Change in how doors unlock

When I got my 2023 Lariat more than a year ago I could approach the vehicle with my key fob and put my hand inside the outside door handle and all four doors would unlock. A couple of days ago something changed and now only the driver door unlocks. I have to hit the the key fob twice to get all four doors to unlock (expected behavior with key fob). Anybody else notice this or is this a new update to "add more safety" to our rides?

Is it the same if you press the buttons on the remote? If so, press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the inside of the driver's door for about 3 seconds, the lights should flash a couple times and it'll switch from driver's door unlock with remote to all doors.

Thanks all. Pressing the lock and unlock buttons on the remote did the trick. Guess I should have researched the manual more. I love the truck but I think I have aged out to my level of incompetence with modern vehicles. I'm as old as my icon looks.

Old is relative my friend. Sometimes I too feel old, but then I think of what I have to remember that the older generations didn't have to know and it amazes me sometimes.

Just a WAG, but try topping off your battery. The change you noticed may be one of the features that get disabled as the battery charge decreases.

I had similar issues with the locks on my 23 Lariat Hybrid. Finally the dealer checked the battery and it was toast. The Maverick was less than a year old and had approximately 6,000 miles on it when the 12V battery was replaced. Now, about 3 months later I am having lock issues again...on the passenger door, not the driver door just as with the original battery.

Hmm...anyone know if one can do something to change this on a keyed ignition vehicle (XLT Tremor)? I have the remote with key, and would rather everything unlock with one press instead of two.

I tried the method above with the interior buttons to no avail. Granted, I haven't dug through the whole manual yet. Thanks!

It only shows as an option on the Lariat.

When I walk up to my truck and unlock it by putting my hand in between the handle and the door it unlocks the passenger side for my wife too I'm not quite sure about the back seat because I don't have anyone getting in the backseat

I don’t have a lariat but in any experience I’ve had with vehicles and fobs, one push opens the driver door and two opens em all
