Just installed a Mishimoto oil catch can on my 2.0 ecoboost Maverick! Instalation was super easy and straight forward (10-20min). Just an FYI the location I installed it at barely clears the hood so beware. I did make an installation video if your interested.

Thank you! I linked all the parts in the video description but if you want I have seen a couple kits specifically for the Maverick. Just make sure they have a brass filter and a baffle on the catch can itself.

Is it hard to get the factory connector hose off before you add the new quick-connect fittings?

They are easy to remove but you will break them(the plastic is very brittle) so make sure you get replaced connectors.

Good thing the hybrid is port injection, no need for this
If it has a turbo you will want to get a catch can so the oil vapor from the crank case doesn't go into the turbo. It isn't just the valve stems that get gunked up, but the fins in the turbo will get clogged slowly then the turbo goes out right after the warranty goes out.

Didn’t thing of that. Good thing the hybrid doesn’t have a turbo either

There is some controversy whether these things are needed or not. They must be drained periodically. I am still on the fence if I want to do it.

That was my question, how often are they serviced?

They are recommended to be service at every oil change (since you can dispose the catch can oil and your engine oil at the same time) but from my catch can there is just a bit of oil after about 400 or so miles. So maybe every 2 or 3 oil changes I'd empty it. If you decide not to get a catch can this fluid will go straight back into your intake and turbo. I think they are worth it in the long run but not necessary imo.

I worry water would freeze in the can in the winter. Don't have one on my F150 ecoboost. But I bought it used and trading it on the Mav. I think the can is one of those things that you may not need but can't hurt.

I don't think it would freeze being mostly oil but I don't actually know.
