For some reason whenever I switch to CarPlay the audio quality goes down significantly. Anybody know if there’s a setting I can change or is this just how it is?
thanks in advance !

A few factors here. #1 At what level have you set your audio stream quality? Settings-Music-Audio Quality. I have Lossless turned on for Apple Music and it sounds awesome. If you use another service for music, then it's likely in that App's setting as well. #2 If you have AirPods or other headphones and have messed with the balance or EQ at all, it does stay that way when connected to CarPlay. I have an old pair of AirPods balanced to the right because it's dying and when I hopped in the car, everything was still balanced to the right haha. Hope this helped in some way.

The thing is, I use the regular Bluetooth on the truck and it sounds very good. But once it switches to CarPlay audio the volume goes down and when I turn it up it just does not sound good at all.
I’ll play around on settings and see what’s up.

In setting on your iphone there is a setting the equalize the volume. I believe it is in the music app settings. It is called sound check. When on the volume will be noticeably lower, but all songs will sound the same. Turn it off and songs will go back to normal (louder) volume, but there may be a variance with some songs being louder than others.

Mine sounds fine.

But no way to "fast forward" audio tracks? I can only skip.

Holding down the arrows does NOT fast forward like it does in other vehicles.

Let me know if you found a confirmed way to FF.

Thanks.

Make sure your phone is plugged in for best quality. Bluetooth will lose quality.

I would also recommend plugging into the USB-C port instead of the USB-B port.
