Sorry for the delayed response. I am using the Rockville 2 ohm dual voice coil 6.5 woofers. They sound amazing. Not going to rattle the car next to me crazy, but clean low bass that sound great inside the truck. If I had to do it over I might step up to the eights, but I am very happy with what I have including the boss amps.
Paul, thanks for your response, and it is very helpful. I like the balanced bass response of Rockville very much and I'm not looking for bone jarring thumps.

Interesting, I've been looking at a few different Rockville woofers and subwoofers, including the Rockville RVL69W 6" x 9", which are truly intriguing. They have some really good reviews and they are not too expensive. One YouTube reviewer noted they were not true subwoofers, but have great bass response. This statement makes me think I could mount them in the rear doors where the storage bin and bottle holder are located, or possible on the flat raised portion toward the back of the door. From what I've heard, the RVL69Ws and the Rockville W65K9D2 6.5" both have a very balanced bass being very good at the mid bass ranges, which is exactly what I'm looking forward to.

Thanks for posting your installation. Can't tell you how much it has helped me in my research.

I have gotten a lot of info from this site myself, so glad to give a little back.

May I ask the you guys where you tapped into the factory speaker wires? Did you remove the head unit and tap in from behind?

I used Puzu's Factory Plug & Play harness which taps into the speaker circuits at the ACM and sends them through the DSP Amp and back to Ford's factory speaker circuit. The DSP also has subwoofer out access. Puzu made it very easy. All I had to run was the sub's power, ground it behind the back seat, and snake the sub's speaker leads from the DSP Amp.

On my Maverick all the ACM leads are in the front of the "head unit." Here's a photo of the ACM. For a manual connection to the factory speaker circuits you can tap the leads that are circled.
