Paul, thanks for your response, and it is very helpful. I like the balanced bass response of Rockville very much and I'm not looking for bone jarring thumps.Sorry for the delayed response. I am using the Rockville 2 ohm dual voice coil 6.5 woofers. They sound amazing. Not going to rattle the car next to me crazy, but clean low bass that sound great inside the truck. If I had to do it over I might step up to the eights, but I am very happy with what I have including the boss amps.
Interesting, I've been looking at a few different Rockville woofers and subwoofers, including the Rockville RVL69W 6" x 9", which are truly intriguing. They have some really good reviews and they are not too expensive. One YouTube reviewer noted they were not true subwoofers, but have great bass response. This statement makes me think I could mount them in the rear doors where the storage bin and bottle holder are located, or possible on the flat raised portion toward the back of the door. From what I've heard, the RVL69Ws and the Rockville W65K9D2 6.5" both have a very balanced bass being very good at the mid bass ranges, which is exactly what I'm looking forward to.
Thanks for posting your installation. Can't tell you how much it has helped me in my research.
