Can someone explain what they mean that the maverick is built on the same platform as the Escape?

Sounds good, I'll take a look at it and have it shipped over here. Not sure if Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts or O'Reiley's can ship overseas though.
Oh - I didn't mean buy and ship - rather get part numbers that match other vehicles you may indeed already have parts available for there.

The Germans started using the term “toolkit” and that works better.

Technically, the rear wheel drive, electric Mach E is built on the same platform as the Maverick.

A VW Golf and Atlas are built on the same “platform”.

A Toyota Camry and Lexus TX are built on the same “platform”

The understanding of these terms has changed a lot.

This is the first time I’ve heard this. Can you elaborate?

The Lightning and Mach E are not built on bespoke electric platforms per se. They’re heavy adaptions of the ICE platforms/parts bin.

In the case of the Maverick, the CD4/C2 is used by several dissimilar cars. The Lincoln Nautilus and Z are made on it as well.

Add in that the 1960 Ford Falcon was built on the same platform as the 1966 Shelby GT350 and those same basic innards under pinned the 1968 Mustang 428 Cobra Jet built with wider shock towers.
People get too caught up thinking the Maverick is merely a re skinned Escape while there are significant differences.

Mostly just looking for suspension replacements to be exact the front and rear Struts they require a change really soon.
Wow! How many mile do those struts have on them to wear them out in 3 years? Unlike GM and Ram shocks, the Ford ones seem much better built. I would have expected them to last at least 10 years before even thinking about replacements.

Suspension component wear is based more on mileage than time. Someone who drives 30,000 miles per year may need new struts in 3 years.

I don't know about your Maverick but my Maverick does not have rear struts. There are struts in the front but the rear has a traditional Shock absorber and a spring that is acting on the control arm. The rear has upper and lower a-arms with is much better than strut type suspension.

In the front struts are used because they take up less space. This is needed because the transverse engine setup takes up more space from side to side so there is not easily made room for an upper control arm.

Good news for your rear shock replacement as shocks are more universal and it should be less trouble to find something that works.

So, where is the “technical” link between the Maverick and Mach e platforms? I’m still not clear on this.

First and most importantly, they’re unibody vehicles with similar wheelbases. They share a few hundred parts we probably don’t think about much like air bags and bolts.

They’re both designed in Dearborn using a common starting point designed by a group of engineers.

They didn’t take an escape or nautilus and make a Maverick. They started with a bin of 10,000 legos, used 4,000, added 2,000.

Here's a pretty good unibody example 70 Dodge Challenger was longer and wider than the 70 Plymouth barracuda but yet they were built off the same shared e-body platform. Many basic shared parts and many different parts.

So, because they’re both made by Ford.
