well it just fits. If any of the dimensions were larger, it wouldn't.

Any larger TV goes in the bed. That's why it has the bed! My friend bought a 85" TV from Walmart, and drove it home in the bed of his Maverick.

Laying it flat can cause the screen to get damaged.
That's only for the old Plasma televisions. The current LED/LCD models shouldn't be affected.

That is not true, you might be able to get away with it with a smaller screen, but you are still taking a chance. If you look on the box, it usually says to transport and store it vertically

I don't think he is suggesting to lay it flat. With the rear seat flipped up, there is more clearance to the roof and/or door openings. It isn't restricted to the area between the seat and the center console. It can sit upright on top of the storage cubbies and possibly be angled to fit a wider TV.
