  1. EV Deep Dive - Ford/Toyota

I know for a fact you don't need a 220 volt 40 to amp plug to charge a Tesla. You can use a standard 3 prong wall outlet. I've done it several times. It's slow, but it will work. And the cable for the upgraded wall charger is not heavy at all. My elderly neighbor came over to check mine out...
  2. EV Deep Dive - Ford/Toyota

If you can charge at home it would be ideal. You don't need to buy a charger unit if you don't want to. Even though it's very slow a wall outlet or a dryer outlet can be used to charge a ev. Doesn't matter to me how slow it charges at home. I plug it in when I get home if it's low and then...
  3. EV Deep Dive - Ford/Toyota

I'm loving it so far. It's a huge upgrade in every way. Yes it's saving me money. I've spent $447 so far to go 13,000 miles. 98% charging at home. The only maintenance has been a tire rotation and that was $20. My wife and I like to go camping in it. We just lay the back seat down and put...
  4. EV Deep Dive - Ford/Toyota

Luckily I own my home so I can charge at home. After owning an EV for a year now I will never buy another gas vehicle. All the other ev owners I've talked to say the same thing, once you drive one and get used to it then you never want to go back.
  5. EV Deep Dive - Ford/Toyota

When I bought my Tesla last year it was $37500 with the tax credit. Now it would be $45000 but that's still under the average price for a new car. That was one of the main reasons I bought it. It was cheaper than the Maverick Lariat that I was considering getting to replace my totaled Maverick.
  6. First Sight! $30k Midsize EV Pickup Prototype

My biggest worry with this EV is something I haven't seen anyone talk about yet and that's the software. I owned 2 Mavericks and I thought the software was fine. Then I bought a Tesla and I realized that the software in a maverick was complete crap. Software in an EV is just as important if...
  7. Ford $30K Electric Truck. A winner?

I use my ev every day.
  8. Ford $30K Electric Truck. A winner?

Let me add a little to this conversation with my own personal experience. My first Maverick was a 23 hybrid Lariat. Absolutely loved that truck. A guy hit me and totalled that truck. The only Maverick I could find was a hybrid XLT in January of 2024. I didn't really like it but I figured it...
  9. 2026 Maverick pricing, new colors (Orange Fury & Marsh Gray), FWD ECO 2.0 returns

Wow I can't believe how much Ford is taking out of the Maverick since the 23 models. It's amazing how much they are still charging for one. I was really wanting to get a new model to replace my 23 Maverick that got totaled but now I'm glad I sold my temporary Maverick and moved on to something...
  10. One Word to Describe Your Maverick – What’s Yours?😆

Lacking Good truck but the technology in it is very outdated.
  11. Has anyone ever regretted getting a XLT ?

I don't really regret getting a 24 XLT but I really miss my 23 Lariat. I tried to find a 24 lariat when mine got totaled but no dealership near me had exactly what I wanted so I just picked the best deal available.
  12. What's up with my MPG on the Hwy with my Hybrid?

So 2 miles of slow driving raised my mpg by 15mpg? I'm not saying it didn't affect it but nowhere near that much. I always get high 40s or low 50s unless it's cold outside. All I was trying to show is that it's possible to get a good average even while driving highway speeds over a pretty...
  13. What's up with my MPG on the Hwy with my Hybrid?

Ok fancy math person, next time I'll time each stoplight for how long I'm sitting there. If you want more values for your calculations the speed limit where I live going through downtown is 20 mph. There is about 8 stoplights between the highway and my house. I don't know much about the other...
  14. What's up with my MPG on the Hwy with my Hybrid?

I said that was my speed most of the way. Before I got on the highway I hit a few stoplights and the same thing when I got off the highway. Total miles driven less than 55 mph was around 2.
  15. What's up with my MPG on the Hwy with my Hybrid?

I got this the other day driving down the highway. Speed was mostly 65 to 70 with some 55 to 60. Temperature was high 50s.
  16. So Sad, Too Bad... dreaded rear-ended

My first Maverick got totaled (not my fault) one year ago. I had zero problems with the insurance company. I paid about $34,000 and they gave me "market value" about $42,000. I wasn't about to turn down that offer.
  17. From a post from a Facebook Maverick group

    I went full goose 😁
  18. 30 minute max idle help

Our drive-in uses a FM station that I've had trouble picking up with a stand alone radio, that's why I was using the truck radio. Plus the sound is much better coming from the B & O system. I tried the Acc mode but that shut off also. I forgot to mention I have a hybrid.
  19. 30 minute max idle help

Here's an example of why I think there should be no time limit or a longer time limit. My wife and I like going to the drive in with this setup. Unfortunately every 30 minutes I got to climb out of the bed and turn the truck back on.
