Did anyone notice poorer video quality from the rear camera after the recall update?

I noticed that the backing up guidance lines are more pixilated, and the rear camera picture is of lesser quality overall. The screen looks normal when using any other function outside of the backup camera.

I've compared video of before and after I took - no difference on 24MY hybrid.

Then again I didn't have the prior darker screen many with prior MY's are noting they had.
So your MY may be different.

😁
I wonder if those folks with prior darker screens, didn't have their brightness turned up all the way?
While doing the recall the technician may have turned the brightness up.

The comments I've seen stated it started at default 50%, but the increase to 100 did nothing. They wanted it so they tried it.
After the recall it was brighter if they had left it there, or the increase actually worked.

Mine is default 50%, bright enough - never tried if increase worked.
I'm thinking some tweak had already been done in 24MY software.

Which also ponders the question - did anyone with that issue, even hook up wifi and see if there was a software update to get? I had 1.
Then again what needed updated by this recall, and what can be updated in that wifi process - may be very different and it wouldn't have mattered for screen brightness.

I have had my back up camera freeze on me twice now since the camera recall. Before I received the update, I never had any issue with the rear camera.

Has anyone else had a problem with the camera after the recall update?

I also did my camera recall last Friday, and had the same issue. There aren't that many tech's working on the recalls, and it varies by vehicle. I can attest that my truck took all day. They parked it in the bay when it was my turn at 11:30AM, and it literally did not get done programming until 5:30PM. Book time is not always right, and electronics are a pain in the ass. Patience is key with some of these recalls.

So much so, they forgot to change my oil when it was done.
This ACM is horrible, and it does not like taking the new update. At my dealer, I am the only one the manager authorizes to do the 24S59 camera recall because I’m the most familiar and other than two ACM’s flat out refusing to take the update (requiring ACM replacement) I’ve had no issues. It is time consuming, nevertheless.

It seems that the 'service writer' at many dealers has the expectation that customers are all as ignorant as ... I won't say it... and they can lie to them with impunity.
I think someone over-scheduled and had to turn away customers with appointments that were not able to be serviced the same day.
It would be better IMO for them to just tell the customer what happened, and ask forgiveness. Perhaps a free car wash as compensation for the extra trip?
The airbag replacement recall took all day. Shop time allowed for task was ~2 hours. I got there on time and was told then they needed the car all day. That is NOT an appointment.
I do not know if that is standard procedure, but it should not be.
I could not do that job as I cannot lie with a straight face.
As a tech, I’ll tell you right now, that airbag recall PAID 2 hours. It takes longer to ensure nothing is damaged during removal. You have to remove a, b, and c pillar trims, and drop the headliner without creasing it. Again, something I am the only one in my shop who is entrusted to do this recall. Took 4 hours for one, but it all came apart and went back together smoothly and customer was happy.

I am not surprised that the time allowed is less than actual. OTOH, sometimes flat rate is more than generous. I bet those jobs are assigned to certain people. In a good shop., IMO, those jobs should be shared equally.

I had the backup camera recall done at the dealer and the image when backing up is much better now than before the update.

I had my MY22 hybrid camera recall done along with an oil change, tires rotated, filters etc total time for everything 1 hr. I never had any issue with the camera (dont really use it) but the screen is brighter and i could see or noticed i can see the tread on the top of my bumper. I was hesitant to get the recall done. I am more interested in getting the battery issue fixed i am on #4 in 1 year and it finally seemed better and didnt want the recall messing that up. I do the usual turning off all updates, wifi etc, manually turn off lights/radio before turning off the truck, double lock on exit, keep key in faraday pouch and ALWAYS drive 15-20 miles on every start up ( even if i drive around the block a few extra times) and never let it sit more than 1 day. Interestingly over the winter it was stuck in the Ice after a 4in snow storm immediately followed by 2in Ice/rain storm flash freeze and it took me 3 days to get it out and i started it those days for 5min or so trying to rock it out of the spot and that didnt cause a deep sleep with temp very cold that week. Still hoping for battery drain fix so i can stop driving it around needlessly just to ensure it will start the next day.

Had mine done on my 24 eco and noticed no difference, but I never had a problem in the first place. Seems like the sound is down a little from before but I’m blaming old ears 🤣
