If you've read the paint process paper a fella posted on this site those numbers seem right. The writer stated, (2016), that the OEMs did not electrocoat the roof of vehicles. So if you remove the .8 - 1.0 mils of ecoat then the lower numbers make sense.I get 3.6 to 4.5 mil, the roof is thinner than the rest. DeFelsko gage, part of my day job.
Carbonized Gray Metallic with zero paint issues, nada - 16k miles. Show car perfect? Hell no, it's a factory paint job that has not been corrected, but stripped clean and ceramic coated it is more than acceptable for a Fomoco paint job...
Some folks have some crappy paint problems no doubt, but it seems to be more accurate to say it is a your truck problem, not a Ford Maverick problem.
