would that be a bad thing? two of the most useless features I have ever had on a vehicle,some love em'.I don't see the need,traction control has got me stuck,ABS has almost wrecked me a time or two.(IMHO)
If you just want to test a theory, install the bearings the correct orientation and disconnect the ABS sensor to see Christmas lights on the dash. Once you've seen it and get tired of it, plug the sensor back in and keep it moving. :)

yeb those blasted lights( kinda like you get when traction control is hanging you up,the traction control is the(plus the VSA,if possible) first thing I cut off ,when I get in a compromised traction if traction control was so great my wife wouldn't have to call me to come to the bottom of the hill in bad weather to get her and the car home(I grew up learning to drive a one wheel drive"buckboard" Ford f100 in the bad weather.

Funny my 05 Rav4 FWD had or eventually got at some point a bad calibration for steering wheel or lateral sensor.
The effect was turning right with decent speed the system thought you were turning harder/further and tip-over was about to happen.
So the traction/ABS grabbed some brakes on one corner to slow you down.
This was beyond the traction control system - as turning that off didn't prevent it.
At 30 mph is one thing, at 65 over a 2nd level overpass that is not wide is quite another.

Strangely an EGR or catalyst system error (can't recall now) not only threw a MIL, but I guess to get your attention disabled Traction control - and that extra system.
So it stopped.
After I did a steering rack change, I went to a place that said they could align and do the center-point calibration. Alignment was not good, so I doubted the calibration.
Still has MIL, so I can't recall if it still does the brake grab after a code reset.
My son prefers TC off anyway.

At 26:20 in that video ... it may explain when to use/press inner vs. outer.

Note: I know you need to lube the tool (screw), but not sure you want/need to lube the outer
part of the bearing the way it was done in the video.
Yes of course that does have to happen too - my wondering is the fact the OP comment was only about the inner being braced. And maybe that was the step they meant, and already knew about the outer press aspect.

Ya, that grease when a seal is right there - hmm.

But I have sure seen it done wrong - it'll show up eventually and then you can try again!

Mostly seen it on bike bearings helping someone. While you can make up a press using washers and screw rod that handles it - it can also be done wrong.
Not many friends are attempting their vehicle bearings.
