Question on steering wheel swap install, swapping 24XL with 25Lobo

I’ve been researching the process and parts needed to swap the steering wheel on the 24 XLs and going off of VTEC’s thread of the process, however I am brand new to this and was wondering if anyone had tips and information on the process.

I liked this install instruction from the escape forum -- same wheel.

- disconnect battery and wait several minutes before removing the air bag
- Air bag connectors: lift the orange tab, then remove
- It's harder than you would expect to remove the steering wheel trim (to swap the buttons). Keep pulling -- slowly and methodically work it out. It might be easier to do this with the steering wheel on the car.
- straighten the wheel before removal. Once removed, tape the clockspring so it can't rotate, or damage may occur. I was very anxious on this step (as if I was diffusing a bomb lol), but it's really not hard.
- When reinstalling, torque the nut to 48Nm (~35 ft-lb) as per the service manual

Reading the link above, it sounds pretty involved. I did it, but I did not care about wiring/enabling the heated part of the new wheel. Pretty simple if you don't need that.
