I am on Hemodialysis and I need my 2024 Lariat Hybrid to go to the clinic 3 days per week. What do I do, Install an AGM Battery, Keep trickle charging or wait for the stooges at Ford to fix the issue with a recall? Please help!

Install the AGM and say goodbye to the problem. The quicker you take matters in to your own hands the less stress worrying about whether the truck will start or whether Ford will take action.

Hang in there Tony, it's unlikely the truck will leave you stranded unless the battery is actually starting to fade. I have been tolerating the same issue on the same model for at least nine months and it starts even after a week of sitting at the airport. Now, for peace of mind you can have the battery tested. If it doesn't meet spec the dealer will replace it under warranty. If it does pass then you'll just be left without the remote features on the app. And I will add that replacing it with an AGM does not guarantee it will result in a long term remedy. There are several posts on the subject that confirm this. And that cost is on you. I have decided to pin my hopes on the upcoming software update and go from there. Good luck to you in whatever choice you make.

Or…get a backup battery booster. I have one that I keep under the rear seat and it’s plugged into USB to keep it charged. Lots of different brands out there. Mine is a NOCO BOOST G40. My good news is that I never needed it for my Maverick, but I have helped others plenty of times .

I put a trickle charger on the Maverick because I happened to have one on hand from a previous vehicle. Yeah, it's been a bit disconcerting to have a new vehicle and have FordPass tell me it's conserving battery power, but our other vehicle is an Escape Hybrid that gets driven less than the Maverick does and is also "conserving battery power" most of the time. Thinking about it I suppose I really should have put the trickle charger on the Escape. Anyway, my point is that it seems like the hybrids go into a self-preservation sleep as part of the way they're made and, as long as the battery is healthy, will continue to wake up and go about their business when you tell them to. If the battery is dead or dying it's gunna let you down regardless.
