My Brother surprised me by buying a Maverick Tremor XLT. He had his choice of the Tremor or a Lariot off the lot. What surprises me is how close his color is to Area 51. I like the cloth seats better than the fake leather.

After going over all the differences between my 22 Lariat and his 24 Tremor. The one thing that stood out was the lack of the Keypad on his. Seen Ford has dropped it on other models too. This was a Ford exclusive think Ford is making a mistake removing these.

They just dropped it from the F150 as well. It's still a Dealer installed option.

I do agree with you. Ford keeps dropping features but keep increasing prices. I pretty sure Ford ranks towards the bottom when it comes to features you get for the price.

How dare him (your brother). They look great. I like cloth seats, I wouldn't buy vinyl seats. Too hot in the summer and to cold in the winter. Congratulations to both of you. Hope he appreciates the AWD.

I'd rather have push button start and touch entry like the MY25 XLTs and all MY Lariats have over the keypad. I just use the keypad in place of that for entry sometimes when fishing the key out of my pocket to push the buttons isn't convenient. Beyond that I see no point in having the keypad unless it's a work truck that an employee who doesn't get a key but still needs access. I'm not one of those people who leaves my keys in my vehicle, ever, too much vandalism in the city to risk it.

People must REALLY like those keypads. I don't think I would own a vehicle with a keypad slapped on the side like that. Looks extremely cheap to me.

The keypad is definitely not for everybody. I use mine occasionally, but I probably wouldn't miss it if it wasn't there. On the other hand, there are those situations where it comes in handy for camping or work situations.

Clever place where I put the keyless entry keypad.. (a very flat surface with raised metal ahead of it to prevent wind from lifting it off)

Hi,did you have any issue programming the after market key pad?
Also, could you share which one you went with.
Thanks

I purchased the geniune article from Ford and had them program it as part of my taking delivery of the new truck. Most dealerships will hnor the $56 installation charge.

My Truck was a 2024 Ford Maverick Lariat EB AWD, so this was the device I needed to buy.
