I am wondering if there is much brake dust appearing on the wheels for those that have several thousand miles on their trucks.

Pictures?

The amount of dust will also depend on whether you are driving a hybrid or EB.

It will also depend if you are a "left foot braker" (doesn't understand the concept of coasting a bit).

Perhaps I am not making myself clear, brake pads shed dust as they wear. I am wondering if people are noticing if there wheels show signs of let's say, below normal wear or excessive wear. My Acura shows little brake dust while my wife's Escape shows a lot. And no I do not have a mileage interval.

It depends on the type of pad. Mine seem to be shedding a fair amount of dust. I literally just got done spraying wheel and tire cleaner on mine to get them clean again at only 1k miles. This could be "break in" dust and I won't know otherwise for another 1k miles or so.

Thank you. That's the kind of info I am looking for.

Don't know about Maverick brake dust because I don't have my October 23rd order yet, but let's not get upset. . .

I do know that I can tell the folks who never rotate their tires because the front rims are filthy with brake dust. Rotating the tires front to back will at least get them dirty evenly.

You could also look into 'dustless' pads (ceramic maybe) that will fit the Maverick.

Good luck

[thought I'd resurrect this old thread]

In 13k miles, I have not noticed any visible brake dust on my Maverick's wheels. But in my mostly hilly+city driving; most of the time I come to a full stop, the Brake Coach usually says ~90% or more of my stopping (since last stop) was with regenerative braking and not with the friction brakes...
