Anyone else hear this complaint and does anyone have a work around for it?
I think you knew the answer to this before you asked the question. You also knew it would open the door to a host of folks recommending the proper fix. Hang up and stop with the phone and drive mode.

The idea that you need to talk to someone as you drive should be restricted to only those physically in the vehicle at the time of the conversation.

I bet I can count a dozen people on the phone in town here on my 1.5 mile drive to work. You would not believe the number of times I have seen them blow through the red lights. I always wait until I see a bumper dip before I pull out into the intersection now. I had a guy behind me the other day blare the horn because I didn't hammer it as soon as the light changed.

When he saw the car coming from the right wiz through the intersection he lightly tooted the horn in a thank you jester. I bet it would have been his car the lady would have customized.

What a pretentious post. If people on the other end are so bothered by the turn signal chime in the background of their conversation, they need to get a life! Or, better yet, call them another time. Finish the conversation when you're not driving. I've made numerous hands-free phone calls over the years with my signal on and not one soul has been bothered by it! It's a part of life.

Thanks for the legitimate responses. For the snarky ones (some gave me a chuckle) I bet you all know how to use the Bluetooth hands free function. How could that be….. by the way, they call it hands-free for a reason. No different than speaking to somebody in the car next to you. I do not operate the phone manually or text while driving. And since I have 2 1/2 hours of commuting every day there is work business because things are happening outside of my work hours .
Maybe someday I will post and ask for how did everyone delete that option or find a way to disable it since there’s no possible use for it.

I'd say talking on the phone is about as distracting as talking to a passenger. Radios might also be considered distracting but they have been in cars for a really long time. The onus is on each individual to understand their own limits of focus.
Passengers have been in cars for a really long time as well. That’s what those extra seats are for.

We all have different levels of distraction tolerance. Mine is pretty low. Back when I was a novice or intermediate track event student I hated having an overly talkative instructor. I always seemed to be torn between driving and listening. Good instructors saved most of their instruction for the straights and cool down laps. In normal driving if I’m busy merging or dealing with other traffic in an intersection , I’ll often ask my passenger to “ hold that thought a minute while I deal with this.” ( she hates that 😉) As to receiving phone calls, I take the necessary ones but always keep it short. Not good at multitasking I guess.

I don’t know. Why did they put hands-free capability in the car?
The issue isn’t the hands free feature it’s how ridiculous the complaint of the volume of the turn signal is.

I don't see that as ridiculous. We have 6 cars in our household. It's the loudest. I like a quiet environment as much as anybody.

What's ridiculous is your keyboard warrior eagerness to criticize a brother.

I'll always answer with - I'm driving so if you get pauses my attention is where it should be.
They usually ask when they can call back.
Or worse ask me to call back, great now relying on my memory!

If you have Forscan there might be a way. Go to the IPC module configuration and enable turn signal speed sensitive volume, if the option is there. I had to do it when I swapped clusters.
