Honestly I would be happy the 2.3, 6 speed, all aluminum body panels, larger wheel wells, and for FlatOut to an official partner with Ford Performance Parts.

And when your second keypad unlocks the tailgate AND the truck doors we would've gone full circle to you original complaint of not being able to unlock the gate without unlocking the doors too...

No because I can lock both from said keypad. It’s should act like a harder to use passive entry

Any chance you could get your story straight? Again, Ford has offered a 4-flat kit for years, Curt has a plug & play one also available. You make it sound like those who did not buy a 4K or $100 hitch package have no options. If your "specialty" shop couldn't find either product within 5 minutes online, I'm not sure I'd trust their input.

The Ford wiring harness is available at Amazon & eBay. As well as the Curt Plug and Play.
It wasn't that a Maverick harness wasn't available, it was that Ford didn't make the part number available. I bought the Ford harness and it is the same one used on a lot of Ford models.

I agree with you...not much of a "specially" shop.

there was a brief window when only the bronco sport harness was avail which still required a splice. They did fix the issue quickly.

We can only hope the passive tailgate fiasco is remedied before the Mav’s reputation suffers a serious blow.

I would like it to lock but only when I want it to lock. Not when I lock the cabin.

all it needs is a fob tied sensor like the door handle. I wonder if that can be added
hey that is the way my XL works:

No doubt it’s a first world problem but passive entry spoils you. I don’t use it at all on passenger side door but if it was on tailgate, I’d use it 4-5 times a day.and some days a lot more.

sure it fits but you needed to splice. Anything can be wired.

Love the truck. Have had it 2 yrs now.

needs a tailgate handle sensor for opening and locking. Constantly having to pull out the fob or go to the door keypad to open or lock the tailgate. Annoying as hell.
Yea, having to actually lift a handle to open a tail gate or open a door, totally annoying. Why does it not just do so because I think it should be? You, the poster, time to get a life.
