You'll like the keypad entry. I love mine. Never had it before and never thought I'd use it, but I have multiple times now.

Also, shame on you for suggesting a feature... that's not allowed! I love how personal some people take it. Like you just insulted their entire ideals. We should all just got back to candlelight and hunting wales for blubber because times were just simpler back then and obviously "cheaper"? I'll bet the same people telling you that suggesting a feature are certainly enjoying their central air and heating... Shame on you for wanting a feature included in equally priced (and cheaper) vehicles.

Love the truck. Have had it 2 yrs now.

needs a tailgate handle sensor for opening and locking. Constantly having to pull out the fob or go to the door keypad to open or lock the tailgate. Annoying as hell.
Hmmmmmm. I've never had to go to the fob for that. But, there's probably little things that annoy me too. Mostly the nanny electronics that try to control for me. Heater controls, electric parking brake, light controls, etc.

Not having an auto touch tailgate handle is okay with me since I can unlock it with the key fob or touchpad. I would like to have auto dim mirrors. Even my 2009 sportrac has that. But the biggest design flaw for me is not having a shifter. I’m so used to not looking down at anything to move between DRIVE & REVERS. Hopefully I will get used to it.

The Ford keypad is my favorite option of all time. I use it 3 to 4 times per day. Ive had one since my 1997 Thunderbird Turbocoupe! 2nd favorite is the automatic sunroof/ or as ford calls it Moonroof!

Wow i can't believe how far this thread has gone. The OP has an answer for everyone.
step one.
Lock your doors any way you want. by hand. key fob. Key . A coat hanger through the crack of the window.
Step two .unlock the tailgate with the key.
Step 3 quitcherbitchin.
Locking a tailgate on a pick up truck is like locking the doors on my jeep with the top down. I don't care if you have a cap or tonneau cover. Someone can get into the back in a second. Just grab and rip it open. Sorry but this thread is ridiculous
Yeah, I'm THAT guy! I used to roam around with my top on but no doors on my JK. Then randomly I was sitting on the lock button and discovered it still worked... from that point forward I would "lock" the Jeep when leaving just to see some people's expression when I intentionally "locked" a Jeep without doors!!! And to the one dummy that asked, I really did answer, "They remote lock in my garage, even when they are not on the Jeep." It was truly a, "Here's your sign," kind of moment! Or was it better when I told the 2 14 year olds on bikes, while filling gas, "Nah, it didn't come with doors and I wanted to save some money so I didn't buy any..."

Still haven't seen someone mention it, so I will:

If you are that concerned with contents of your truck bed, get a trunk monkey... you never have to lock anything again!
for those of you not in the know.

my vote for biggest flaw is no auto dim mirrors, yep all 3
My biggest complaint is the placement and thickness of the driver's A pillar. Really seems to block the view while making a left "Y" turn. Could be my size/seat position, but this has never been an issue for me in any other vehicle. That said, I am very pleased with my Maverick.
