It was discussed with ford racing about the tune being detrimental to the transmission. Yes , aftermarket tunes will be detrimental to the transmission. Ford racing has Mitigated the damage to the transmission with the additional horsepower through torque management. This Sophisticated programming is not available with an aftermarket tuner. Some of us also addressed to take advantage of the additional horsepower , a higher stall speed converter , electronically controlled. Ford racing is considering this in future development.

Increased horsepower = more weight, more suspension, more braking needs, means less mpg, add all the pro's and con's means you might be looking at the wrong vehicle. Such a direction would leave to a $45K Ranger. Ford has made significant hints that the direction of the Maverick is more toward hybrids, due to more demands for fuel efficiency, etc.

Well i,ve heard all kinds of stuff about the new 2026 maverick so just wondering.WHATS THE CHANCE OF A V6 powered ecoboost engine as a option this coming year.i know, but we can always dream!
s never enou
what about a ranger or mustang,I have always heard gripes about the Honda element, the moral is good is never enough-as it stands a more powerful engine will use more gas and I heard that oil will be hitting $100 a barrel before too long. you want a sports car get one( no disrespect as the Maverick now stands it will get you a ticket in a few seconds

Anyone who believes they might see an V6 Mav let alone an ecoboost V6 Mav... I've got some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you.
a NA 3.3 would be a good option for many reasons

I have been hearing all kinds of stuff too
Like a 2 cyl diesel engine maverick with a turbo charger and super charger that gets nearly 100mpg that will be priced below $15K
Dang, it must use a Fish carburetor to get that kind of efficiency!

A 2.3 is the biggest a Maverick could ever hope for.

Come on, they Coyote swapped a Miata!
I toyed with the possibility of a V8 for my Miata when the engine went the second time.

There are off the shelf conversion kits out there for both ford 5.0 and for GM (LS?). One is $2k the other is $4k. Of course, if that's all you do, the suspension isn't up to it. So add another $30k . . .

Anyway, I joked to a serious racer about the 500cid from my '72 Cadillac in it. He grinned and said, "Trust me, it can be done."

Anyway, once I get settled into this house, I'll get around to dropping a ford 2.5 in--it's the same engine, jointly designed, but ford builds it harder.

I with you on the 2.3L!
The 300T will be a pricey modification.
A 2.3L swap may be the cheaper way to go.
I say the 2.3 EB should have been the standard engine in Your Lobo and optional in the other AWD Maverick trims although I love the 2.0 EB in My AWD Maverick and there's nothing wrong with it IMO. But IMO the 2.3 EB would be a nice option!!

Did California fall in the ocean? Didn't hear about the earthquake.

I agree with you.
I would hope Ford will use the 2.3 if they decide to make a Maverick ST.

The 2025 2.3 Turbo EB in the Mustang is rated at 315hp. The 300T Performance Package, using the 2.3’s bigger turbo, brings the Maverick up to 300hp:)

I’ve lived a mild mannered automotive life - never owning a 300hp vehicle. Never needed one. Still don’t.

But I may need to amend my bucket list. If the 300T turbo/intercooler installed is closer to $1000 than $2000 - I might pull the trigger;)
