Best riding all weather tire you've found

I have a 2023 XLT and Alto Blue and I absolutely love it. It's a hybrid and I'm around 31,000 mi but needing to replace tires pretty soon. Just wondering with me commuting mostly interstate and inner city. No more than 60 mi a day. I'd like a comfortable ride, but something that can handle the Indiana ice and snow. I've always been a Michelin person. Didn't know if anybody has put some tires on their truck and thought wow this ride is so much better. The tires that came stock are a continental pro contact TX and they've been a pretty bumpy ride.

Michelin Defender 2 or Michelin Cross Climate 2

Michelin CrossClimate2's have my seal of approval. Check out tyrereviews on YouTube, they have a ton of AW tire tests.

But if you want a noticeablely smoother ride you need more sidewall or an upgraded suspension.

The Michelin Cross Climate 2 is the top-rated SUV tire in CR. It is an all-weather tire with the 3PMS symbol on the sidewall. Essentially a winter tire that can be run year-round. Excellent (5/5) on snow and ice. CR's extrapolated life is 95,000 miles.

I was just looking at them because our nephew in Northern IL needs tires. He is concerned about ride. They are rated 4/5 for ride, as are most others.

The Michelin Cross Climate is the top rated all weather tire, nothing else even comes close in testing. Best winter performance, best in the wet, best in the dry, and best long term performance as the tire tread decreases.

PIRELLI SCORPION AS PLUS 3 Crossover & SUV Tires in 225/60R18

Unbelievably quiet, great in heavy rain.
Handling is wonderful but I did have to raise cold tire pressure to 37 psi.

I am enjoying 2 mpg more, over my stock primacy’s that I now consider crap.
The Scorpions brought me way up from 27 to 29 mpg in my Appalachian roads.

Got a buddy with Defender 2’s, a 3 is coming.
Mine are a bunch quieter on the crack seal and handle better,
But he is running door plate pressure.

He's upping to 37 psi and then I’ll drive his Mav again.
My Ford dealer could not get 2’s, said it’s been discontinued in favor of the Defender 3.
Said, “We can get three tires so no go.

The CC2 is rated 4/5 for everything, including rolling resistance, except ice/snow traction which is 5/5.

Rolling resistance is important, but other factors carry more weight. All tires are a compromise, and the CC2 is the best compromise out there, AFAIK.

There may be tires that are better (5/5) in one or two categories but they will be worse (3/5 or lower) in others.

Bottom line -- each person must decide for themselves which performance categories are most important to them. A driver in Florida who never goes to the snowbelt might discount snow & ice traction and focus more on anti-hydroplaning for example.

My Continentals are about worn out now at 30000 miles. I do like those tires because they stayed balanced (round), smooth, and quiet. Many other brands I've had become bumpy, noisy and out of balance as they wore down. The Continental's traction has been better than average. My next set will be Michelin Defender 2. They have the smoothest and quietest ride reviews I can find and should last twice that of the Continentals. My best tire value experiences over the years have been Michelin. You can mail order them from Walmart for $200 each, then get them installed locally.
