Hello and welcome to MTC. Congratulations on your new Maverick but you need to post pictures of your new truck. Looking forward to seeing them. Best is a spray in bedliner. Also a lot safer, and keeps moisture away as well. Depending on your needs a tonneau cover can also be a much needed and appropriated addition.

They are easily folded up or removed allowing some of all of the bed available. It's really nice unless you like shoveling snow out of the bed. It also keeps things out of sight and light items from blowing away going down the road. I went with a hard trifold and really appreciate my decision. Best of luck with your new truck.
I have had both now, the drop-in and now the spray-in. The drop-in is okay, but it bends, here and there. Especially on the tailgate. The spray-in is a lot sturdier and more sufficient to my liking, and had a soft roll-up with the drop-in. The wind would get under the cover, not lifting it, but blowing it constantly whatever the speed. I now have the hard roll-up and it sits quietly in place and no rain gets under it, with the spray-in, I like it much better and its appearance is great. I put the rubber mat inside for added protection since it was free with rewards points. Looks fab.

All good points. I do have an A.R.E. cap installed to cover the bed. So it should stay dry. I do plan on using the bed for moving things, trips to H.D., etc. I'll remove the bed liner once in a while to see if it is rubbing paint off.

Back in the day when DIBL started. A friend dropped on in his demo (worked at dealership). They sold it and when he took one from stock and was to just swap the DIBL. We were shocked it rubbed paint off and started rusting in areas. The dealership gave him the option to pay to fix the old or just add a new DIBL on his new demo. The price to fix and repair the damages far exceeded the price of the DIBL. At the time spray in bedliner's had not come out or introduced. Once they did that's all they used.

He needed a bedliner on his demo he hauled wood to his cottage and brought it down to his home as well. They do look nice on top but below it's destroying paint and causing rust. The downside on DIBL besides what I just posted is how dangerous it is when wet, frosted etc and the need to secure anything in the bed because it will slide like it's on ice.

Try and not make this to big a story but I think I had about everything listed here.
No liner had some dings here and there even down to the primer never rusted.
Plastic drop ins, I guess I'll call em. Gouge easy, slick as crap and promote condensation below on the bed, fill with water, like a baby pool. Yep even factory ones.
Rubber mats served their purpose too. Hard tonneau cover over fishing gear and all my other weekend fishing stuff. Never no farm implements or puncture type stuff on it. Maybe a deer carcass or two.
LineX, durable as hell. No scratching, not slick and always looked real good. Rough on the knees though. Warranty was second to none.
My last Silverado I bought used had LineX in it, I stoped at the Local LineX store because it had some whiteish looking areas in it that later washed out fine. But the lady that ran the store said she would honor the warranty even though I got it used. That sold me.
This time I ordered the spray in from Ford. At least they looked a lot like LineX, We'll see.

I'm in a similar spot , similar Truck. Love the green. My '24 Carbonized XLT is still at the dealer waiting for the camera fix and to my surprise the backup '25 order arrived last week. I had chosen an XL with few options then so I'm saving a few bucks on the car, but now I need accessories.
Not a work truck, but a home truck. Dirt, wood, concrete, stacks of plywood all made it home in my minivan which the truck replaces. No matter what , some form of bed rug will likely be included to keep things from sliding around and I need a cover. Probably a roll up.
My dealer sells TOFF spray in liners.
I'm inclined even as a DIY guy to maybe try the Raptor kit.
ane here's a fun tour of how your liner gets put down. Seems like a $600 project no matter what.

Note that unlike DIY paint, don't waste your time,
a real bed liner is most often a 2 part polyurethane (see the video).
(diisocyanate and the polyol)
The Raptor Kit is a DIY version of that.
Has anyone tried it.

I kinda like the idea of ford doing it at factory vs people doing it afterwards. as it looks like they pop the tailgate off etc, at least if ford does it, get a new tailgate lol idk. just think before it goes anywhere, having it done is probably ideal

I took possession of my new 2025 Maverick XLT hybrid AWD this week. Eruption Green of course. I ordered it back in August but somehow did so without anything in back. It's my first pickup truck. What's the best thing for the bed, i.e., spray-in, liner, etc? Sorry, no pics but you've no doubt seen them out there!

Edit: Thanks for the answers. I'm leaning toward the spray in. I've had the truck for just under a week and still figuring it out. I'm in the Midwest and the weather outside is frightful.
Hey Rob!

Congratulations on getting your 2025 Maverick! Now that you have it, be one of the first to display a Maverick Truck Club decal!

See details at Maverick Truck Club Decal (Transfer) ($6 delivered)

Congrats again on getting your Mav and thanks for considering.

A spray-in will do more for protection of the bed than just protecting the surface. I've seen vehicles without a spray-in get rust way earlier than they should just from minor paint scratches. A drop-in liner can result in rust underneath if not sealed well. Imo a spray-in is a must for every bed, even if you don't plan on abusing it at all.

I agree with others about the SIBL. Besides the SIBL, I went one step farther and installed a bed carpet. Makes it very easy to slide things in and out without having to deal with the grooves. Also much easier on the knees!

Unless you are going to absolutely pulverize the bed doing commercial work, I'd have to be convinced that more than a rubber mat is overkill for most owners.
I've used rubber mats in my trucks for years. Seems to be all that's needed for me, anyway. For the Maverick, I bought one with my Ford Points.

Rubber mats are not your friend. Friends don't let friends buy rubber mats or drop in bedliner.

The rubber mat does not allow items to slide in and out that can be a pro and a con. The biggest issue or con that many don't know or consider is metal with hot and cold creates condensation. Yes even under the mat and it holds it there not allowing it to evaporate quick enough. I had one in a pickup with a cap. It was rusting the bed out. That's the only thing I could explain it was from condensation. The cap did not allow rain or snow in the bed
I've used rubber bed mats for years and never had a rust problem - not even in my last F-150, which I had for 22 years.

For sliding things in or out, I use a piece of cardboard or an old rug. Works fine, and things don't slide around in the truck. Always best to secure them, though.

Might have a lot to do with location. I had a cap so no salt in the bed. Still lot of temperature variation causing frost and moisture not able to air dry. I had a very different outcome.

Ford's simple drop-in bedliner for me. I had a 2005 Nissan Titan with their SIBL and it turned out to be garbage. Peeling, blistering and bubbling. If you are going with a SIBL, surface prep is paramount.

SIBL from Line-X has served me very well! Had it installed in April of 23. I have had all sorts of different things in the bed of the truck and held up perfectly. I do also have a soft tri fold cover from Rough Country, so I didn't select the "premium" product because I'm not afraid of fading or anything like that. My local Line-X shop did an excellent job. All drain holes are still holes. They took out the plastic cubbies and all screws or bolts. Took out the tie down hooks.
