Battery saver mode but 12.5v

Vehicle entered battery saver mode and would not let me remote start. I have a Bluetooth voltage monitor on the 12v and it showed 12.5v. Car was previously driven about 25 mins on the highway and sat for about 15 hours at an airport lot.

Curious why it would enter BS mode at that voltage?

Since the BMS response for Deep Sleep Mode (when modem is disabled per your notice) is based on it's readings - I've found my multimeter voltage reading at the battery is a tad higher than the battery sensor reading.

So your BT reading may have been 12.5 (that's when you came back to truck?), but it's reading was likely lower, and a glitch besides.
Because 12.1 is the initial battery saver items, but DSM is below 9.5 V.

I wonder if the BMS thought you hit below 40% SOC, since that's the other potential.
40% doesn't match with 12.5, or 12.1 for that matter.
But people have had drains before that got cut off after the 60-75 min when normal sleep mode on modules kicks in. Of course DSM killing the modem could have been the solution too.

So maybe you had a drain that caused the SOC to hit 39% during that initial period after shutdown, but either the modem disabled or other modules going to sleep stopped the drain.
And it recovered decently enough for what you saw on return.

FWIW I parked around 930am, battery was ~12.65v right after parking, it slowly bled down to 12.51v when I got there at like 2am.

BT monitor is connected to battery posts.

And there was no big draw on it after parking. That time. When I got home it did make a big draw, the next day it was 12.15v.

What a PITA.

Same here on several occasions on my ‘23 hybrid even after swapping to an AGM and resetting max. state of charge to 100%. I remember a service bulletin issued regarding false alerts in FordPass but I never have pursued that with my dealer since it happens infrequently for me.

Had no idea there was a bulletin on it. I normally don't care but it was 100* out and I wanted to get into a cooled vehicle. I hope they fix it on the next gen of these things.

I have same issue on my ecoboost. Sometimes it's good for a long time and then in a few hours and BS mode. I changed the battery but still happens now and then. I think Sometimes something stays on

You did start it?

Nothing is learned until you click to On/Ready.

Just making sure - because I could see someone coming out, opening back door, noting the lights didn't come on when they unhooked the charger - and proclaimed an issue.

The BMS reference Voltage that is used for calculating the SOC is done when moving to at least On mode.

The TCU being updated with that new SOC% saying it's good may even take a drive, but I'd expect at least a start.

That way when you turn off the truck - new SOC% is known and updated in the TCU for not enabling DSM.
