"Confirmed customer complaint of battery warning lights coming on. Tested vehicle battery with rotunda battery tester and got DTC code 9C05LL2 and Aces code FE0AU. Replace battery. Replaced battery and no warning lights came on. Vehicle now better."

Funny thing is only got the warning light a few times over the past 6 months or so.

So now I have a new battery. Let's see how long this one lasts. :ROFLMAO:

Did you get another Ford battery and is it an AGM battery?

I hope so Montana but I have to say having some experience with AGM batteries working on nuke plants, the 15.4 charging voltage is a bit disconcerting as well as the perpetual state of undercharge. I may be wrong as hell but my suspicions do not lie so more with a defective battery as with the charging system. Stopping the charge at 80% has to be a fuel efficiency thing which I am not pleased with but Ford is not alone in this. Been discussed to death here. :ROFLMAO:

I know, battery tender, but I'm old, short of patience and memory and finding myself religiously plugging it in every time I drive in the garage and forgetting about it when I go to drive away does not make me giggle. :ROFLMAO:

Prop the hood up as a reminder. If you drive away then, well...

Great idea OB. Seriously though, most likely get me a NOCO 5 for those extended periods the truck is not driven, especially in winter during the snowy stretches. Otherwise, just gonna treat it like I have all my other trucks. Even though the battery was deemed shot, it still started my truck at -25F with no issues, so it could not have been that bad. Popping those codes is what got it replaced, according to the 3 ring binder. I'm just not gonna sweat it.

I used to love to throw little funny things like that in my stories when I was a service writer.

good news - watching for next posting to see how it goes and how long it lasts - my appointment turned off the low battery warning but did nothing for the going dark - but still starts

I just install an AGM battery (Interstate brand) and my charging voltage has not gone over 13.6 volts according to my ScanGauge. Are you using a device that is measuring your voltage while driving?

No. Using my Fluke RMS meter at engine idle.

Rms doesn’t apply to dc. But fluke does make good meters , got 2 or 3 of them .The dc clamp on is best for these situations .look at your “ current” charge rate at idle and engine off along with the voltage . The dc clamp on can really tell you a lot with the charge system .
