I can’t compare the BakFlip to any of the knock offs, but have had both the BakFlip and the BAK Revolver. I prefer the Revolver hard roll-up. When you need the whole bed (except for the diameter of the roll-up) you can still see out most of the rear window thru the rear view mirror. The BakFlip blocks it completely.

Do you really think that anybody who bought a Chinese knock-off is going to admit that they made a mistake? Interesting that none of the 3-4 Mavericks they show on their Amazon page actually have the cover installed,,,,

Jeez, have a little faith in the common man.

It's just a $300 cover, why would anyone take that to the grave.

I'd like to have that kind of faith, but look how many guys write about problems with a dealership, yet refuse to name them,,,,,

I'm partial to the hard roll ups. I really don't like the back flips that block the rear window. Other than that, the price looks good.

I like the looks of yours better. When I bought my Maverick (4 yrs ago) not many tonneau choices...so bought a cheap quick solution...but my quick and cheap choice has been excellent. My cheap $200+- soft Chinese tri-fold Gator brand probably weights 1/2 the weight and 1/2 the thickness of a hardtop (mine is not a hard top) attaches the same way, except my clamps are spring loaded to hold it on, so once installed and springs adjusted, if taking it off the springs don't change so are very easy to reattach after taking off...after 4 years (Jan 2022 delivery) it still looks like the day I installed it. But when not driving it's in my garage...any tonneau sitting outdoors all day is not going to last 4+ years if mine was outdoors all day I'd chose differently.

Regarding "Hard Top", cannot imagine anyone needing to stand on or haul stuff on TOP of a hard top tonneau...but some may need to. The plus for my cheap tonneau is it has never leaked a drop of water, and the two times I've needed to take the tonneau off for big loads in the bed it is so light I can remove the entire tonneau in at most 7 or 8 minutes and put it back on in max 10-12 minutes. Folded up, my tri-fold blocks maybe 2 to 3 inches of rear window but I use screen and side mirrors for rear view anyway.

The only issue with my tonneau is on long dirt roads dust gets in bed but that is not the tonneau but from joints underneath the tailgate. Which I have since installed rubber trim...which seems to have stopped dust from getting in the bed. Regarding thief: You could penetrate mine with a crowbar or a knife...but I rarely carry anything of significant value...security is mostly "out of sight, out of mind". But no doubt the hard tonneau would provide more security for those that need it.

"Most" tonneau's sold by US dealers are made in Asia. I bought thru a dealer in Kansas and documentation in the box noted "Made in China". I import electronics for a living, and two things that are consistently cheaper are electronics, tents, etc. made in Asia...that require cheap labor to build.

I like the looks of yours better but not $280+ but like my less weight to handle...but I've only removed mine twice...each of the 4 panels flip up to provide easier access or handle bigger items in bed. Plus, I can buy my cheap-o model twice and it would still be less than the above mentioned tonneau.

As someone above posted...Maverick tonneaus are all over the place from $200-800-$1,299 with many brands of tonneaus leaking....it's a crap shoot but I have no complaints on mine after two 4,000 mile trips from coast to coast and approaching 40,000 miles on the Maverick. Tonneau only priority is that it not leak. Security was not a priority.

One reason to get a hard rollup is security. If you have anything of value in the back, you dont want the local hoods to use a utility knife to slice up a soft cover and rip you off. The BAK roll up is pretty secure but like anything else, if a crook wants to break in they will. It just depends on how much effort they want to put into it.

There are several sellers on AMZ who sell the same tri-fold cover.
I bought one from Autosaver88 that is the same unit for $54 less. I like it a lot.
Easy to install and has a well designed rubber perimeter seal.
I didn't need to use the extra tape backed seal they also provide.

It's very sturdy - you can walk on it - and the only time I got any water intrusion was in a high pressure no touch car wash. Even then, it was minimal.

It folds up easily and visibility loss is minimal. It isn't hard to remove either, and leaves no trace when you do.

Different needs for different people...I never keep expensive items like tools in my bed.

I had a soft tri-fold on my 2022 Maverick worked, served the purpose. My 2024 came with the Ford hard rollup. I like it much better. Looks a lot better and more secure. It's not cheap, but it's great. $365 for a tonneau isn't bad. They all leak a bit, but as long as they keep things covered and protected, it should work just fine.
