Well if the software fix is like some of the other software fixes the software engineers have put out in the past there may be more recalls on the recall. Hopefully they will get it right the first time on this one. Imagine ford is taking a lot of heat on this one. Glad mines not affected or worse waiting to drive home one that's on the lot waiting for the fix. Imagine dealers with inventory of them are having fits paying their expenses on them sitting there.

Ford Motor Company and Ford dealerships are going to take a bath on these unsellable '24s stuck on lots.

By the time they can be sold they'll have to offer incentives since there will definitely be '25s on lots.
Any rumors or guesses on the incentives? I'm tempted to pass on my '25 if the deal is right on a '24 XLT FX4

Willing to bet all the coders who did not get laid off are working overtime to fix a hardware problem(aka Atari 2600 processors) with a software patch. Kinda hard with only 8K of RAM.

I'm glad I am not the brainiac upper lever management guru who nixed the SYNC 3 in the XLT & XL in favor of SYNC 0. I have to say though mine has worked fine. Sometimes a micro second freeze when backing up but hardly an issue at all.

In retrospect SYNC 3 should have been available as an option on the XL & XLT. That way they could have hit their much ballyhooed $19,999 on the '22 Hybrid XL strip. A lot of time and effort went into that price point and it did not survive too long after roll out.

yes. this particular problem is caused by 'Ford Connected Audio' which was internally developed and I would bet the hardware is insufficient.

however, it wasn't like this in 2022. it has always been slow, with a low-resolution resistive touchscreen. the speed and quality were noticeably poor compared to the sync3 Mavericks (B&O audio). but the backup camera didn't start freezing until relatively recently.

some updates to the truck have created this issue. presumably, updates can fix it.
I don't know about 2022, but my truck has had occasional issue since it was delivered in May '23. More often for me, there is a delay in getting the screen to show the backup camera. It is either black or shows the Ford Logo. I have a long downhill driveway and sometimes I have no backup image until I'm almost to the street.
