Received the avs bugflector ll #25980 and installed . instructions pretty clear didn't have grease pencil to mark so used magic marker on underside of Hood to mark location of grommet holes . Two inside flange holes did not lineup exactly .used the Phillips head screw driver in Hood holes thru flange holes and pried it towards windshield to mark (small indentation) to drill out (1/4 drill bit) to expand inside edge of flange holes . worked fine . only real problem was that I dropped one of the plastic grommets into the engine compartment (never to be seen again ). fortunately I had some spares from previous vehicles .

Ps : on avs bugflector - if I lean forward in drivers seat I can see edge of it so now know approximately where front edge of vehicle is . helps in parking for me .

Yep, probably my favorite hood deflector available so far adds the perfect contrasting touch and installs easiest out of all the ones I've tried (never doing a hood stick-on again).

The front end being so flat means this deflector does the classic hood ornament's job perfectly and since it rises off the hood you can even do the classic hood ornament flick as you walk away

I have the same one, but no Maverick. Collecting dust in the basement pile.

I do like the traditional deflector style best, Looks good. I have the Lund and may install this on over it as a deflector and not just a hood protector. I suspect these windshields are not very durable.

I put on the avs bugflector to protect the paint from bugs and ect . I live in Florida and twice a year we have love bugs . their guts stuff is extremely corrosive to clear coat and paint . $60 is a good investment imo . had one on my previous f150 and worked well .

Like a couple others here I had a bit of trouble with my AVS Bugflector, the slots on the part do not align to the identified holes on the hood.

I contacted RealTruck.com for troubleshooting who promptly took my info to forward to the manufacturer for a warranty claim. So far I haven’t heard back from either AVS/Lund nor RealTruck.

It wont be hard to modify the part to fit, but I’m now curious to see how they will stand behind their product.

Looks good. My car engines have eaten some screws. How about when the screw goes down a hole never to be seen again. Six months later you find the screw on the driveway. 😎

It’s likely that my part wasn’t aligned properly on the jig they used to cut the slots. The distance of the slots to the curved surface that mates to the hood varies on my shield.

What’s called manufacturing part to part variation. One of the killers of quality control.

Can not believe they are still selling these things. (n)

I had a six cylinder pinto that a dropped screw would take six months to fall to the ground.🤗

Had same install issues with mine as well. Also dropped a mounting pin, never to be seen!
I did, however, have short sheet metal screws that I used to mount mine. After drilling out 2
holes that did not line up right. Have not had any issues with mine since install.
Looks good!

I read somewhere need to be careful with a die electric reaction with screws in the aluminum body. Could be wrong though
