Anyone experienced any issues in adjust the auto headlights delay?
It doesn’t matter your setting, the delay it seems hold in 20 seconds.
This is what manual states:

I did a research in the modules settings and found a block called “Autolamp delay” in the BdyCM. I’ve change the default value (20 seconds) to 0. Nothing happened.
I will other settings later on. Keep you posted.

That setting in the instrument cluster varies the time the dome light and ambient lighting stay illuminated after the engine is shut off before themselves fading to off.

Seriously? Thanks for the clarification. Do you know anything about the delay on headlights?

Admit to being at a loss as to exactly what you mean by headlight delay.

If you want to alter the headlight behavior from the default "auto" setting the control returns to with each start cycle (a default feature I do not care for, by the way), you can physically rotate the headlight knob control counter-clockwise to the off position.

Simple, in the auto position, it takes 20 seconds to turn on the headlights when enters in a darkened area.

I believe it's the delay for the headlights to turn on when the wipers are on.

Back in the early days of auto headlamps, my 2003 Taurus would frequently turn the lights on and off when ambient light levels fluctuated, like passing under tree cover.

Over time, they've matured the logic to smooth things out so that generally when the lights turn on, they'll stay on for a while.

Unfortunately, that means that, for instance, they won't turn on for a bit after entering a tunnel. In cases like that, it's probably best to turn them on manually rather than wait.

The customizable delay in the settings is for headlights staying on after the vehicle is turned off. When you turn off the vehicle, the headlights will briefly stay on.

Thanks for the contribution. I understand your point about logic. You’re right. I had several cars with auto headlights, this Maverick delay is far the worst I’ve seen. It could be 5 seconds instead 20. Just my opinion.

Sir, maybe you’re wrong. This is what I’m talking about. This setting doesn’t work.

Guess my shutting off vehicle, opening driver's door, stepping outside, shutting driver's door and then timing the interior lighting at the various settings was some kind of mass hallucination then. Because that's what happens in my vehicle and in the cued up bit explained on this guy's video.

As for headlights themselves, have never experienced any kind of delay with either on or off. Slim chance that may be related to my choosing to keep daytime running lamps set to off via the instrument cluster.

This video caused confusion. The Youtuber is wrong. Anyways, I will be looking for a solution. Thanks

All I can offer definitively is my experience with my Maverick (which replicates the relevant linked snippet in the YouTube, even taklng into account that guy's is a Lariat Ecoboost and mine an XL hybrid), which would appear different than your experience with yours.

In case anyone finds this later and is confused - the ambient lighting is a setting in the infotainment center not the dashboard - and fits with the Lariat trim line as shown in the video.
In manual (your page for year will vary) under Interior Lighting - Ambient Lighting.

The delay for ext lights to turn off is another delay in the dashboard settings. No setting for interior they'll time when they time out.
Under Exterior Lighting - Headlamps.
SWITCHING HEADLAMP EXIT DELAY ON AND OFF
To switch headlamp exit delay on, pull the turn signal lever toward you when the headlamps are off and the ignition is off. A short tone sounds when the system is on.
To switch headlamp exit delay off, pull the turn signal lever toward you again or switch your vehicle on.
Note: The headlamps turn off after three minutes with any door open or 30 seconds after the last door closes.

The auto-lamp for turning on is another setting.
Which is shown above, but it appears misunderstood as to usage, though latter post covered it.
