I almost always disable the stop/start feature on my 2023 2.0 Ecoboost, because I don't like it. How, I left it enabled a couple of times to test it, and it never activates. The display shows a message "disabled dye to vehicle charging", or something similar. Has anyone else see similar behavior? I'd vs happy if it never worked, but if I have an issue that needs to be addressed, I'd like to know.

Your battery may be dying. That's been the case for at least some of the other members who have had auto stop/start quit working on their EcoBoost Mavericks.

Low battery will disable start/stop . Not a fan and always disable it . more wear and tear on engine , starter and battery . That's my personal opinion .

there are many variables when it activates, such as engine temperature (if just started won't shut off for awhile), if you have fan speed on high usually won't let it shut off and like the other said state of battery charge - but if you see the light showing not available and then it goes off it should be fine, unless it continues to not auto shut off/on.

I always disable also but some times I forget and it never activates either. No message tho, just an icon by speedometer in a circle with a line through it. 🚫 signifying it’s disabled I’m guessing. Doesn’t matter, never never use it anyway. 24 XLT FX4 eco.

From the start with my EB last Feb when the battery was brand new, it has behaved that way. I have found that starting from a system that is operating, overnight the drain on the battery will take around 30 miles of driving to overcome the vehicle charging message. However, if I don't drive enough to start the system working, the battery will be lower the second day and it will take longer to fully charge. It has taken over 100 miles of driving when the system was low.

If you go long enough, 5 or more days of not getting fully recharged, the state of charge can drop low enough that the 12V outlet which is programmed to remain live for 30-45 minutes after shutdown will shut off with the ignition.

A trickle charge overnight will restore the system so that it will operate soon after starting up.

The dealer has said everything is ok, but it seems to me it should charge up faster that it does.

As you can tell, I like the feature and would like to have it working more reliably. Manufacturers have been using this for a number of years and the starter has been designed to operate for years with the number of cycles needed to spin the little 2.0L motor.

If the engine is cold and your HVAC is set to heat, A.S.S. may be temporarily disabled to run the engine to provide heat for the heater core. Similar if the HVAC is set to cool and the compressor needs to run.

My Auto Stop/Start on my 24 EB only works after a very long drive. It will then work perfectly fine for that day and maybe one more day, then it stops working completely. When I go for a very long drive again, the same things happen. As others have mentioned the system is very picky about the battery voltage, which seems to drop a bit when not taking long drives.

Disabling auto start/stop using Forscan and my laptop was the first thing I did when I brought my Maverick home in June.

My 24 is much the same. I have found that if it is fully charged and working, overnight it will need apx 30 miles to recharge and work again. If I don't drive enough to get it working, it appears to be worse on day 2, taking longer to recharge. I've had it get to the point it took 125 miles to start working. If I let it go long enough, eventually the 12V outlet which is supposed to remain active for a time (90 min on mine) will shut down with the ignition. This doesn't seem to be how it should work.
