i ordered a maverick in Oct. 2021, with options. i went into my dealership to verify color and options, they gave me a new print out with higher option prices.

they said they’re only honoring the original 19.9k, but not options (the changes equate to 2-3k more than original)

what was your experience with dealers honoring original pricing?

I have no solid news from dealer, only thoughts and theories.

Sounds bogus. The entire order should be price protected as shown in the Smart Vincent of the order. I had no issues getting price protection, after mentioning/showing them where it was stated in the order.

They're trying to pull a fast one (unless you changed your build after the protection cutoff date). They're not the ones "honoring" price protection or not, Ford is. It doesn't cost them anything to sell you the trucklet for the original price as they get refunded by Ford.

They are not regard to honor the markups, but they have a path thru Ford to do so and neither they nor you will lose a dime. You may want do all you can to enforce that FACT with your dealer, but there is no guarantee, especially if they protect themselves and not you. They get the markup difference. 😧

PS. Good luck!!

Man the more I read about you poor souls dealings I am very fortunate, (I didn't bug the shit out of them either). I ordered Nov.5 2021. Not once did I mention the price protection not did they. When the truck arrived the price was the same as it was 8 months ago, MSRP no add ones etc.. On top of that Ford gave me a $750 rebate. I have no idea why. Also 8 months ago I asked that they put no dealers stickers or license plate frames on. Again never mentioned it again. They delivered the truck July 11, (two weeks AHEAD of schedule from Ford), with no stickers or frames.
You have price protection! From Ford Motor Company. Maybe Ford guy will chime in or PM him. Good luck.

My dealer has reassured me several times that he will honor the quoted price and the 3 year 0% interest. I have the original agreement in writing, a $1,000 deposit, and I keep notes every time I speak with him.

Ford raised the prices, not the dealer.

Price protection. You should get it. But it is a little complicated on the dealers end. If they sell a retail order to the person who ordered it, they will be reimbursed for the difference between the new and original "invoice" prices (less any difference in the fuel charge). So the reimbursement the dealer receives may not be the same as the amount that they have to discount you to sell to you @ your quoted price (MSRP or otherwise).

Some of the posts above show the info dealers have received about this.

The process is supposed to be automatic. And takes 3-6 weeks after the sale date for the dealer to be reimbursed. And there are sometimes errors.....I know our dealership is still out $900 in price protection that we are owed by Ford from an Explorer.

So it isn't always simple for the dealer. There is no clear way to look at an order and know how much to expect back in price protection. I attended a webinar a few months ago....Ford acknowledged this, and is working on a way to clearly communicate to dealers how much they will get for price protection on an individual vehicle.

BUT, none of this really matters. The dealership should do right by you, the customer, and honor the price they originally quoted you.
