it only feel like price retention. edit to add this: I recently sold a used Corolla to carmax for $2k over what I paid 2 years earlier, I also add 40k miles to that car. the value of my poorly maintained car didn’t retain or go up in value.

i think dealers f-ck with consumers because they can, and they could sell it with a markup if you don’t follow through with the purchase. for my purchase they price protected the model price but would not price protect for the options. i feel like i was fleeced for about $1.4k edited portion...

i did similar, I rented a maverick through Turo App, had the car all weekend. It’s the best way to test drive in my opinion
