ASS- Has been so finicky- Hasn't worked for me in weeks even at 40 degrees.
Auto stop start is a massive power demand on the engine. It will not work when using air conditioning, heat in very cold climates and when the CEL is on. All 3 will automatically disable auto stop/start.

None of which is present here at the moment and still no workie - It did work after they replaced the battery and then again after replacing the entire fuse box but now just non functioning. Electrical seems hard for Ford -

It is meant to "Save Gas" as you sit at a stoplight...

I live in San Diego and I find your statement to be wrong. I have had my heat and or my AC on and it has turned off at a stop. I don't have it all the way on, I have it at the low setting and it will work that way.

I believe Fossil was questioning ASS settings in the Menu screen that I eluded to.

I’m certain he knows how to disable it with the console button... (y)

OK,
Well I am curious about the Stop/Start. So, I just went outside (burrrr) and started my puppy up.
In "Setting", I found NO setting for ASS. Under "Vehicle" I found only the backup camera. NO mention of the ASS, what so ever...??
I have a XL, am I missing something..??
So, I have just looked through my 2022 Maverick Owner's Manual (only the 2nd time, I have looked through it. Shame on ME).
Page 168 - 170. There is no mention of any "settings to change"... ?? o_O

So, what are we talking about ??

The ASS (Auto Stop/Start) turns the engine OFF (like at a stoplight) then restarts the engine when the gas pedal is depressed. You CAN turn OFF this feature.
Funny thing.... I have always turn OFF this feature, but for the last three weeks. The truck turns it off for ME!? The "AI" must be working.... Or maybe it has something to do with my truck's color... o_O

Jerry G.
the point was, there is no A.S.S. in settings

There are times when the vehicle itself disables the auto start/stop (well, mostly the "stop" part...). Here's what it says on Pg 170 of the owner's manual:

The system restarts the engine if:
  • You switch the heated windshield on.
  • You switch maximum defrost on.
  • Your vehicle starts to roll downhill in neutral.
  • The engine is required to run to maintain adequate brake system assistance.
  • The engine is required to run to maintain interior climate and reduce fogging.

Don't know if that helps, or not.

I will try again.
Did the reset work?

My passenger door handle also stopped locking and unlocking, took it to the dealer, they updated the body control module's firmware and ran the calibration for the door handles again. I've had no problems since, plus the TSB for that issue came out about two months after I took my truck to the dealer. Perhaps I got the same fix the TSB applies.

Thanks but I have none of these on or happening to my truck. It all happened after the oil change.
