It doesn't have to be low voltage. The battery temp itself could be below the required value. It could also simply be the outdoor temp is too low. In my Escape, I've noticed it tends to not stop as frequently in the winter as during the summer and I live in central Alabama where a cold day is in the upper 40s.
Ah, I missed that part. I've never seen that particular message. I just get a generic "disabled" when the system determines it needs to be disabled. I wonder if you could read any OBD-II error codes.
Under which menu setting do you get the disabled due to vehicle charging message ?
You go into the menu selection screen in the dash. You can select various "displays". One of them on mine is for Auto Start Stop status. Keep in mind I have the larger screen with my FX4. Might be different for the folks with the smaller in dash screen.
This procedure is in maverick manual (do not have manual with me to check # of times, etc but it also states when it has to be done, etc). There is also an 8 hour procedure to follow when replacing battery or possibly when neg cable is disconnected, etc. I have a Polaris ranger with an AGM battery and I have to place it on maintenance charger periodically. I forgot once and battery was way low. When I put it on "recovery" mode it was about three weeks before charger declared it charged. I also have a Honda crv which has a regular flooded battery and in order to keep it charged I keep running lights and cabin fan at half speed. (Enough draw to keep 12v bus at 14.4v which keeps battery charging adequately. If not done battery in honda will last 24-30 months when I do this battery will last about 4 years). I have no idea how mavericks BMS manages battery but I expect it to be better than my Honda.
