Then you probably need to hit ac control to turn on .
That's what I've been doing.
Given that the climate control is supposed to bring the cabin temp to the set figure, it seems that the AC should automatically cut on to cool temp down to the set number.
HONESTLY, though, if that's my worst complaint, I'm in a really good place!

Hello I’ve been concerned because my Maverick puts auto AC on in 60 degree weather… I tried to figure this out when I realized that and couldn’t find anything in the manual like people said and my FordPass app looks different than what online says and how to turn auto AC off…

it was 53 this morning and my truck automatically turned AC on… I know I know I know it’s for defogging…. But it’s COLD why does nobody understand why AC when it’s cold just DOESNT MAKE SENSE.

please please please help me I don’t know what I’m going to do when my car is turning AC on when it’s 10 degrees or below.

please help!
What specifically is your problem? Youve written quite a bit, but I cannot understand what you are actually complaining about...

Is it too cold inside the cabin after remote start? Is it that the A/C Light is illuminated, even though the outdoor temp is cold? Is it that youre trying to have all thermostat controls set to off upon start up?

I had my 2025 Hybrid running in -30 degree temps last winter, and the cabin was perfectly heated. In the winter, we have lots of melted snow on the floorboard after entering the vehicle. Due to the warm interior, the snow melts into quite a bit of water.

I dont know about you, but I most definitely have the A/C set to ON, so moisture from the melted snow water (which is actively evaporating) is "conditioned". That way I have dry air coming in from the vents, and moisture dense air going out.

Driving in my area, you see lots of vehicles where moisture is trapped in the vehicle and has condensation built up on the inside of every window... These are the people who think and practice your statement: "But it’s COLD why does nobody understand why AC when it’s cold just DOESNT MAKE SENSE." Then wonder why they have mold problems and the headliner is peeling..

The air conditioner does not run below freezing. The cut-off point is 35, possibly 34°F. Otherwise the "moist air" will become frost and clog your heat exchanger.

That said, it works by condensing water on the cold, but above freezing heat exchanger, like a cold soda can on a hot humid day; and just lets the water drain by gravity to under the vehicle.

It won't turn the ac back on because you shut the system down. If you have it on auto when you shut it off it might come back in auto.
Automatic returns at next start to what the setting was when truck is shut down. If you want it to come on automatically when you next time start it then you need to turn it on before you shut the truck down.

I wonder about the opposite. In the mild late summer mornings here in Birmingham AL, I like to switch the climate control in my XLT off and lower the windows. When it gets warm and I switch the CC back on by pushing the rotating button, the fan comes on, but the AC button doesn't light up on its own. I've given it a couple of minutes, but finally push the AC button. Even when I dial the temp way down, the AC light stays out.
Does the AC eventually come on automatically when CC is restarted?
This is what mine does too - perhaps older MY effect.
I do normally have the temp control around 72-75 such that the AC might not normally come on anyway.
No Auto button. But I'm recalling if I lowered temp enough when it's hot out - AC would turn on.

Every blue moon, despite being in habit of turning AC off and fan down - I'll turn it on with AC enabled.

I recently started putting temp on Lo - still no AC engaged - as per the posts that say that's the way to disable it. Seems to work.

Now, sometimes I can feel the AC has been turned on when humid, very low power. But of course no button light on that auto-use case.

Auto-button.

Then the temp setting decides if AC is turned on, don't need to hit that button.

No to the auto-AC enabled - go read the other thread linked - that's the complaint actually.
Not in auto-mode, but for some people the AC is being enabled when not desired.

Honestly, how many times does this group/forum need to address this? Like a stereotypical canadian,.I apologize in advance for sounding like a knob, but really?
The joke was that MavStangVa linked OP back to his own thread. Mr. Suxx has started two threads in as many weeks, both venting about the same "problem." :D

I don't understand what is so difficult about the AC / heat. I have it on auto fan, and I have it set on three. I set the temperature to 72, or of it's really hot I might drop it to 68, and if it's too cold in the car it blows heat, if it's too hot in the car it blows cold. And then as the temperature starts to inch closer to my temperature setting, the fan goes slower and basically throttles down. So it turns on the AC when it needs to, and it turns it off when it doesn't need it. Unless his is broken

I rate this post 10/10. A+. No notes.

When not in auto and the AC button not selected or defrost, why does the AC randomly turn on? I've never had a vehicle do this b4. No rhyme or reason why my mav turns the AC on. Pretty sure both my mavs do it. Dumb thing does it with the windows rolled down fan on one notch temp set to low. If I wanted AC I'll push the button.

No, I'm in Wisconsin, not humid. Turns on randomly due to lack of use maybe. So intermittent I can't pin point it. Or it's a programming glitch. Your theory then it's on all the time due to humidity with the windows down, not the case.

I just want to point out that if it's below about 30 degrees, your AC won't do anything to cool the air. Heat flows for hot to cold, and if the air is colder than the AC coil the AC coil won't do anything. Plus, 30 degree air is really really dry already. To dehumidify air the dew point must be above the coil temp and dew points in the winter are often like 10 degrees.
