Completely Agree. When I was 25, I realized I'd never purchased an American made car. So, I gave Chrysler and the US economy a boost by buying a new cute 95 Dodge Neon Sport for my new cute wife. Yeah, I'll say no more... except that the 96 Honda Civic EX that quickly replaced it gave us 7 good years up until we donated it to someone.

At this point a 4 door pickup that drives like a car suits us very well. I hope the Maverick doesn't disappoint. So far, my AWD EB has been an absolute pleasure: 33mpg today while driving 75mph in 107degF heat towing a newly built utility trailer on an 80 mile round trip with my wife.
I never got anything like that mileage, either.

Best of luck to you!

This☝ is exactly what killed my intention to order a '25 model.
All the new models are like that. I just bought a 24 forester specifically because the 25's have a giant abortion of a screen in the middle of the dash. You have to look at a screen to operate it, you can adjust a knob or button by feel.

I think a few things are going on.
* Ford has raised the entry level price by a ton so the value equation is off now.
* Economy is bad inflation is high so less people buying new.
* Bunch of Mavericks on Ford lots now. (mostly $38K Lariats)
I paid 39,000 in April for my Lariat but I love it it was fully loaded. What I was shocked about was the XLT was 33,000. I made the right choice

Ford was successful in eliminating orders now for the 2025 Maverick. Jack the prices
and re design a ridiculous front bumper.

Will see how the larger screen holds up with no knobs. Probably why they are holding the 2025's for 4 weeks to test before release. Will see if you will even be able to get a 2025 before January 2025.

Therefore, previous years will do just fine

Selling mine this week. I paid $32k as a roll over. 23 Hybrid Lariat lux with BAP. Not bad for driving it for 17 months. Higher than private party! Love it still but need a family hauler so getting a larger vehicle. Can't afford a 3rd car right now. Insurance is killer in CA. Thought it was going to be my son's first car. Will miss it for sure when it's gone. Will be selling a trifold tonneau a long with a few other accessories for cheap if anyone can meet up in the San Gabriel valley area to pickup. It's been a fun journey with everyone on the forums! I will be back one day.

Yeah I saw that front and was like wtf. That was one of the reasons tha drove me away from the Santa Cruz. Love the tough fascia on the Maverick. Wonder if you can retrofit 🤔

I'll worry about trade in value if im still alive in 20 years. :D
I've never thought about trade in/resale price ever. I buy the vehicles that work for me. I don't care what it's worth when I'm ready to move on. I keep my vehicles a long time.
I understand that many people get new vehicles every 3 years or so, that's not me.

IMO there will be a backlash against the big screens replacing knobs and switches. The tesla crowd might love it but an awful lot of people like lower tech. I just bought a forester in part because of the relatively traditional controls (despite having quite a lot of tech) and seriously considered a gen 5 4runner for basically the same reason. No turbo, no giant screens, just reliable basic tech that's been in use and refined for decades.

Let's all keep in mind the Maverick is Ford's entry level car...just in pickup guise. So it should be priced as a compact car and now Ford has priced it more like a Camry than a Corolla. Add the high inflation that is still present...sorry 2+% is still too high and salary increases have not kept up with inflation and interest rates are still too high compared to where they were 4 yrs ago. The pool of buyers has shrunk and those that can qualify for a loan has shrunk which adds up to $$ discounts assuming Ford keeps building them at current production rates. Will be interesting to see if Ford cuts back on production.

For me, the 25 EB Lariat is reasonably price. It is only $3000 more than my 22 EB Lariat.

That’s wild. My AWD ecoboost gets no better than 18 mpg at 75 mph, towing a 550 lb, 4’ x 8’ utility trailer, with no load and full recommended air pressure in the tires. At 65 mph, I can get 22 mpg. At 55 mph I can get 25 mpg.

Yes Maverick prices are about to crash. The cheapest mavericks you can buy right now are 3 years old. Next year they will be 4 years old and will have an extra 33% depreciation. And the year after that, at 5 years old, the mavericks will have more depreciation than anyone has ever seen in the history of the maverick pickup. It’s pure insanity. The price keeps plummeting to lower and lower levels with each passing month. Who could have predicted that depreciation was going to happen to a car?

I don't care. I bought my '24 FX4 Lariat with 4k tow at MSRP at the time. I won't be selling it. I have run every car I've owned to its end since 1995.The current value is irrelevant. Only matters if you want to sell.

This gets at the issue people are overlooking in this thread. We're taught in ECON 101 that price is the point where supply meets demand. All people are talking about is price and demand, nothing about supply (what you're calling "production").

Fundamentally, Ford will not produce cars at a loss. If they can't sell a Maverick for what a customer is willing to pay, that car won't get made. The only way that prices crash is if they have made a bunch of Mavericks sitting on car lots unsold. I haven't seen anywhere close to the number of Mavericks at the dealership near me as I see, for example, F-150s and Broncos.

If orders for 2025 Mavericks are low, Ford won't make many unless the dealerships have the necessary allocations and order them. And why would a dealership do that if not many customers are ordering Mavericks? Inflation is driving prices higher more than demand. The few people willing to buy 2025 Mavericks will have to pay what Ford is charging if they want one badly enough...
