It’s really a personal choice of spending $795, I myself had to locate a maverick in late September/October I was searching specifically for XLT (needed cruise control) and moonroof. A dealership contacted me when one came in and it has a few more options than I would have ordered I do enjoy my moonroof 👍 I know many people worry about leaks or problems as I’ve never had leaks and only once had to replace a switch no other problems.

Does anyone here order or have a sunroof in your maverick? Thinking to change my order and add a sunroof, is really worth it?
you gotta make that decision, for everyone that says yes , someone else will say no .
I ordered it and love it, totally worth it .

I ordered my Maverick XLT hybrid with a sunroof in August. Figured it would be nice for the hot weather in Florida. By the way, I’m still waiting for a build date! Not sure if the sunroof has anything to do with the delay in building it.
Ken same here I also ordered mine in August with the Sunroof and rear sliding window. I like you have not gotten a build date yet. We will hopefully get our build dates sometime in January together.

We have never owned a car without a sunroof until our G70 (no 6MT/Sunroof combination is possible). But I gotta say, once I started buying cars with panoramic roofs - this ruined me. Now if it doesn't have a pano roof option, I don't bother with the regular sunroof. So I left it off my Maverick. That also helped me stay under $30k, which was the goal.

Have a massive moonroof in my Forester... That hasn't been used since like 2017. I'd rather have more headroom, personally.

Had a moonroof on my 2004 Ford Expedition... hardly ever used it. I really got mad when it leaked in 2012. Fixed the leak, but not getting any vehicle with a sunroof.
I've only had two moonroofs before my XL. One on a 2003 Sonoma ZRX and the other on a 2008 Chrysler 300.

Neither ever leaked, but the first day I took the Sonoma ZRX to work (day four of ownership). On my trip to work a contractor had not secured a can of red paint, it came off his truck and splattered the pavement, and thus my new truck. Went in and talked to my boss and he told me I'd better go and take care of the splattered paint. So, I went to the paint store bought paint thinner. I removed the splattered paint before it hardened good and then polished the truck. After polishing, went back to work and parked it with the moonroof open. Later from our 2nd floor window, I watch the rain come through and soaked the interior of my brand new ZRX. Another trip to the car wash to use the powerful vacuum to get the water out.

Later, in that week, I helped my niece take some furniture home and while a truck sped past me, a rock came up and chipped the windshield. Interesting first week with my new ZRX.

Never had any other problems with moonroofs. I love the one on my Maverick XL.

I ordered one. I love the extra light that comes in. The extra fresh air is also definitely nice. I can’t wait to get it when it comes in.

I'm sure I will miss the natural sunlight coming in(I'll drive my Smartcar when I want the sunroof effect),but with the complaints about paint chipping, fuel tank holes, engine noise,etc....I don't want to take the chance on something that I never thought I had to worry about. The entire Maverick Line is "First Edition" and the bugs will need to be flushed out.

Just remember that it will take off 2 inches of head room compared to non sunroof:(
Have heard that several times. I find it totally wrong. I'm 6' tall and the moon-roof's ceiling is a good 3 to 4 inches above my head.

It's just an option preference.....I am thoroughly enjoying my sunroof.

For those that do have it on their order be sure to occasionally open it and close just as you should all the windows. I open and close all my windows and moonroof every couple of weeks.

They are nice to have until they start leaking. Then u wish you never had a hole in your roof.

you very likely will never have leaks if you do a few seconds of maint on the seal occasionally. The gasket seals these days are good
