Why the setting cannot be saved?

The clock always change to random time or 00:00 every time when I start the car again?

Kind of annoying, you have to adjust the clock every day morning.....

Is this the clock in the cluster? or the Head Unit?

It may vary by trim level. AFAIK, my XL does not have a clock in the instrument cluster. If it does, I surely cannot find it!

If OP's clock won't hold correct time, it's should be taken to a dealer for warranty repair - if still in warranty.

I think it's kind of weird that I have to set the clock at all, but after it's set it stays put until the next daylight savings time issue rolls around. Yeah, there is something wrong with your clock. I suppose it could be user error, but let your dealer fix it.

I find that when I drive into a new time zone and change the clock setting, the new time is not retained. Anyone else note THIS issue?

I have a Lariat and I think the time is set by Android Auto whenever I plug my phone in as they match. If not, it is being set by FordPass... which also uses AT&T so it makes sense it would match my phone.

My clock runs by itself. Never had to set it. Even when I change out the original golf cart battery for a real battery. Didn't have to set the clock time.

Maybe download latest software from ford pass to usb stick and update your head unit if that doesn’t cure it time for dealer visit

Something happened for the first time YESTERDAY. My clock was 4 hours too early. It was showing 12:15 at 4:15 pm.

Sounds like something over the air occurred yesterday. How can they do that without telling us?

Once I connected my iPhone it went to correct time.

I pretty sure ford can do OTA updates on the head unit, may or may not other things. All those clicking noises is the truck communicating with ford mothership. Dealers and ford can see error codes etc from what I understand. I know my radio has been kept updated OTA since I’ve had truck (sync 3 version). Maybe others can chime in

I'm having issues too. I had to manually update it to DST. Then I'd go back to the main menu, but the new time wouldn't hold. It took a few tries. Then this morning I turn the truck on and the time is just at - - : - -

I had to manually adjust the clock in my XL for the time change. But I also have fuse 11 pulled, so there's that. At least it has kept the change so far (knock wood).

I reset the clock for the time change, and since then, the clock will freeze at say 6:07 for twenty minutes, and then crash and go to --:-- . And then when the truck restarts, it goes to an apparently random time, neither hour nor minute anywhere close to correct, and then freezes again.

You would think a digital clock would be a relatively simple part of vehicle operations.
