Guarantee those are gonna cause rust from holding moisture in 10 years. In my opinion I dont see the point felt underbody protection of any kind. Save money and leave it off on lower trims and add actual underbody protection to FX4 and Tremor and Lariat
I guess you missed the point of it giving +3 more MPG on the freeway.

I and the vast majority of Maverick drivers use roads and even go so far as to think that's what roads are for. I am not sure why you think Ford should put more expensive protection with the associated cost passed on to the on-roaders just because a vast minority like to drive over large rocks, up steep rutted inclines, and through mud holes and streams. You own it so you do want you want ...... like pay for your own protection such as skid plates!!! :) Just my opinion and, yes, we all have one! :D

I would like to see the testing on that number. Seems high. Maybe 1 mpg.

Want better mpg? Have to pay for a higher trim. Seem like a win for Ford to get people into the more expensive trims. Add it as an option for fleet models. Sell it in the parts department to fuel misers.

They needed the higher MPG numbers across the Maverick line to balance the MPGs of the GT500 and F-450s,lol

More Disappointment,

4 weeks ownership and 1700 Km's in my drive seat is already starting to get messed up. it looks a lot worse in person. google tells me i need to buy a steam cleaner to 'maybe' get the wrinkles out. my wifes 2022 tuscon with 25,000km still looks brand new for comparison. Im also coming from a 1999 chevy suburban that had flawless seats after 230,000 kms so maybe my expectations are out of line?

That has been identified in a very early post when they first released the Maverick and still not fixed. I know from previous responses......"what do you expect for a $20k truck"...

I always call out those folks every single time.

You should be able to get a truck that is not defective.

Mine has two painted overruns and the notorious nonexistent paint layer where looking at it just scratches it off. Everything else is fine. I expected poor quality workmanship, it’s a cheaper vehicle and it’s made in Mexico.
Overall the build quality is acceptable. No rattles or squeaks but yea the paint just sucks. It flakes and scratches way too easily. The clear coat seems almost non-existent in spots and the paint itself is very thin. I expect a recall for some colours in the proceeding years. It took about 3 yrs for the Toyota superwhite recall to really get rolling but eventually, I got my repaint.

There’s a Santa Cruz out in the driveway and I can attest that its build quality is waaay ahead of a Maverick. Not even close.
What trim and engine/drivetrain in the Santa Cruz? What kind of MPG are you getting? Hwy/City split? Combined?

Yes its a 20-30k truck so i shouldn't expect luxury. these are some of the build quality issues ive come across not even gotten through my first tank of gas.

1. There is no insulation between the engine and the cab. When i open my drivers door i can see inside my engine bay. Ill elaborate more on this later on.

IMG_20221125_232306107.jpg

2. The fender liners dont align, mate, and cover the wheel well. tons of dirt, salt, etc gets up inside the engine bay from here and accelerates corrosion in hard to reach spaces, especially the pinch welds. Dirt and grime also easily migrates to the door seals, door wiring boot and can seep its way inside the frame.

3. The rear wheel well fender liner and splash guard doesnt cover or protect the rocker panel and the wheel constantly shoves water and dirt into it accelerating corrosion. i dont think there is a product that could even help this as theres just to much water flow.

4. this one is a little more specific to me, The steering wheel upholstery is torn and not fitted well, you can easily see inside the steering column into the engine bay.

besides the torn upholstery are these same issues on everyone else mavericks? or worth raising a warranty claim?. Anyone else have things they've noticed?
I agree one hundred percent. Problems like this should not happen. This is a result of no quality control. Tesla has long had this problem, Totally unacceptable.
