Your dealer wants you to cancel, but they will not cancel with Ford. Your Maverick will be built under your name and DL# so you have first right to purchase. If you pass, they could ADM +$10 to 15k. Probably +$20k if it's a Tremor. Even after paying tax and lic and financing for couple of months at a high rate, you should make at least $5k from someone on who sees your ad on AutoTrader and does not want to wait a year.

It's a win win for the swine dealers!

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the Ford Financing promo interest rates that you have available to you can be backdated to the date you ordered using Smart Vincent? @fordvideoguy

I'm still waiting on my ordered Maverick. Meanwhile, I've been driving my new Santa Cruz for several months and love it. I doubt I will ever see my first day ordered hybrid Maverick.

Great advice for younger generation to follow. Sadly, most people live by the principle of if I have a hundred dollars and need something that costs two hundred dollars, I will buy a better one that costs one thousand dollars. As we get older, we season a bit. Thankfully we were able to get our home paid off very quickly, went debt free for many years, although we did buy a new Maverick a few months ago, but will pay it off quickly.
I agree completely.
I retired at 58 and people ask me how.
I tell them that you need to be debt free and have residual income.
We worked hard and paid off everything and own a commercial property that is on a long term lease. It works for us and can for you but it means working hard and planning. If you fail to plan you plan to fail.
We have followed Dave Ramsey's Biblical based practices for many years.

Looks like I am going to stand idly by and watch this model year scoot on by with nothing to show for it. Son and I both had/have Mavericks on order

May be for the best however, the fact that I can say that the possibility of me getting a Toyota Stout before my ordered Maverick gets built gets higher by the moment. Son just bought a brand new Corolla and have the salesperson keeping an eye out for me regarding anything having to do with the Stout. Will reserve one of first models allocated to the dealership.

I bought a Chrysler New Yorker in the spring of 1980, and the bank rate then was 18% (this was before credit scores and tiered rates), so you bought or not. Maybe 5.5 suddenly doesn't sound so bad.

I gave up on chasing a Maverick and bought a well equipped F150 for the same price. When everywhere is throwing an additional $10k or more on the Mavericks, they're almost giving away the F150's.

Anyone else looking at interest rates and considering not purchasing their Maverick? I have a June 12 build date and at this point the lowest interest rates I've seen are 5.5% which is crazy! I have two different trade in scenarios 2020 Soul ($5000 profit) OR 2017 Jetta (KBB $13k - all profit). Either way I'm sitting at a $430-$580 a month payment on a $30k truck. Maybe it's because I've never had a truck payment but that just seems very high to me.

Truck build, nothing special. Inlaws have property/cattle we're starting to get involved with so needed a few extras.

HPR - Ecoboost - Fx4 - 4k tow - SIBL/Rail
I just picked up my Maverick and paid 6.03% interest for 36 months. IMHO, 5.5 you were quoted is very good.

Same build date week here. Lariat, White, EcoBoost, 4WD, 4K tow, spray-in bed liner +, +, +. And yes… I’m considering letting it slide by. Why?
First reason: Because small fender bender type mishaps leaving a fully driveable vehicle… sees many insurance companies totaling the Maverick. WTH !!! SO WHERE do you think insurance rates are going to go for Mavericks ?
Second reason: As you correctly mention - interests rates are NOT WORTH IT!
Third reason: I firmly believe the market is going to implode somewhat on both new and used whatever.
Fourth reason: Body-on-frame New 2024 Ranger will fair much better than the lovely little Maverick… following front or rear fender type mishaps.

Make sure to check local credit unions. Mine was able to offer 4.75% on 48 months, which is the longest I'll go on a vehicle loan.
Thats what I did. First time I qualified for FMC and they came in at 7.7 I got a credit union at 4.0

That is what was told to me. We are locked in to the rate that was available at the time we ordered.

That's what I thought, but then I read though this thread and nobody had mentioned it yet, so I thought maybe I had it wrong.

Just wondering what I could get for mine. It’s a Lariat Luxury package 2.0 EB with AWD and copilot 360 and 360 assist. It also has the hitch and wiring. Cactus Grey color. I know the 2.0 has a lower value than the hybrid and the Lariat carries a higher price but comes with more safety features. Sticker price is $36,275. I’m in central Florida area.

I have a hybrid on order but, from what I have been told, with the constants on the drivetrain, lariat luxury package, 360 and 360 assist, I’m surprised the 2.0 got built.
