Hello,
I hope that you are all doing well. My hopeful and wishful thinking of getting my order fulfilled by the end of this year is almost nonexistent. My order date is 10/29/21 and am very aware there are many people from June, July, August, and September that are still waiting and I hope you can all get scheduled. Nonetheless, I seen plenty of people that ordered after me getting their order completed, so who knows.
I call Ford once a week and I always get different information, I don't think I will get a VIN number by the end of this month as I was previously told. I wish that Ford can be more honest/transparent. I don't mind waiting, even though is frustrating, but I am a planner and if I had a time phrame this will help me plan. As I had previously posted, I had a car accident the day after I placed my order and because I was told on October 2021 that the wait was 4-6 months we decided to wait it out.
However, now that we are approaching the 6 months mark without any information and Ford still not having a clue on how they are going to proceed, am wondering what the next best step for me might be. I know that I will not drop or cancel my order as my dealer recommended. My sale person is more than happy to return my deposit, but I suspect this is because he wants to keep the order and sale it for a higher profit when it gets in. I am not giving up on my Maverick order even if I get in in 2023. With summer approaching, I know I will like to go out and do things. We don't drive too much and COVID has helped us adjust to not having a car in terms of ordering groceries and goods from online stores. I work from home and my husband takes the bus to work, so a car for us is a convenience to get around, do errands, and go out (summer trips, the beach, visit family members, ect).
With this in mind, would it be best to purchase a beat up car to get us by? To lease? Or to continue to patiently wait? Sometimes we use Ubber or do a car rental when we have too many errands to do. However, am not sure if this is economical in the long term, especially if we might end up waiting for over a year to get the Maverick. Any recommendations that people might have? Or any ideas of the best and economical way to get by until the Maverick order comes in (hard to tell since am not sure how many more months the wait will be)? Thank you in advance!
