Hello,

I hope that you are all doing well. My hopeful and wishful thinking of getting my order fulfilled by the end of this year is almost nonexistent. My order date is 10/29/21 and am very aware there are many people from June, July, August, and September that are still waiting and I hope you can all get scheduled. Nonetheless, I seen plenty of people that ordered after me getting their order completed, so who knows.

I call Ford once a week and I always get different information, I don't think I will get a VIN number by the end of this month as I was previously told. I wish that Ford can be more honest/transparent. I don't mind waiting, even though is frustrating, but I am a planner and if I had a time phrame this will help me plan. As I had previously posted, I had a car accident the day after I placed my order and because I was told on October 2021 that the wait was 4-6 months we decided to wait it out.

However, now that we are approaching the 6 months mark without any information and Ford still not having a clue on how they are going to proceed, am wondering what the next best step for me might be. I know that I will not drop or cancel my order as my dealer recommended. My sale person is more than happy to return my deposit, but I suspect this is because he wants to keep the order and sale it for a higher profit when it gets in. I am not giving up on my Maverick order even if I get in in 2023. With summer approaching, I know I will like to go out and do things. We don't drive too much and COVID has helped us adjust to not having a car in terms of ordering groceries and goods from online stores. I work from home and my husband takes the bus to work, so a car for us is a convenience to get around, do errands, and go out (summer trips, the beach, visit family members, ect).

With this in mind, would it be best to purchase a beat up car to get us by? To lease? Or to continue to patiently wait? Sometimes we use Ubber or do a car rental when we have too many errands to do. However, am not sure if this is economical in the long term, especially if we might end up waiting for over a year to get the Maverick. Any recommendations that people might have? Or any ideas of the best and economical way to get by until the Maverick order comes in (hard to tell since am not sure how many more months the wait will be)? Thank you in advance!

My only suggestion is to search for something called a "paragraph".

Some people find it after a sentence ending with a punctuation mark by hitting the "shift" key.

Makes things easier to read and comprehend for us slow learners. :)

No telling how long it will be for a scheduled build email. If you can get a reasonably cheap reliable interim vehicle to get you by until you get your Maverick might be a good option then sell it once your driving your Maverick.

Not sure if the below helps you. Writing from my phone, so difficult to see.

You don't say if you ordered a Hybrid or EcoBoost. You will be waiting longer on a Hybrid.

My order was placed 1 week earlier than yours. Certainly Ford should get to us. The last round of scheduling seemed to focus on early orders with a hard line drawn the first week of September (yes I know there were a few later orders, but). It looks to me like Ford is trying to get on the right path now. Have faith! It also sounds that you are doing well with alternate travel arrangements. Stick and stay and make it pay...

Hello there!
I agree with @Mymaverick2021 and @Constdyn ; don't lose hope for your order! I was fortunate enough to receive delivery of my Hybrid Maverick last week, and driving it for the first time made me feel that the wait was absolutely worth it.

However, if the luxury of spending time waiting is not available to you, I can understand your uncertainty on next steps. If you look for a used car for the interim, it may be difficult to find a deal where you could make back your money when you no longer need it down the road. On the other hand, while new cars purchased at msrp seem to be a good deal right now, new cars can be more cost-prohibitive to purchase or finance.

Perhaps your dealership or sales associate might be able to offer you a deal where you can apply for a short-term lease on a vehicle to fill the interim between now and Maverick delivery? They might also be willing to help you shop around for a similar Maverick, honor your price, and then sell your Maverick with a mark-up once it arrives (I know that one's a stretch, forgive me for spitballing!) Or if you have family or friends in the area with surplus vehicles, they could place you on their auto insurance policy, you could pay the difference in the premium, and then you would have a car to borrow for summertime?

If you can hang in there until your Maverick is scheduled, produced, and delivered, I am sure that you will be glad to finally have the truck that you ordered!

Good Luck and wishing you all the best!

Thank you! Honestly my dealership sucks, they are the worst, and I wished I had done more research before going with them. They have already tried to increase the price on me, they have overcharged me on the sale tax, they are unresponsive, and to be honest once I get the Maverick I hope to never have to deal with them. For now, I don't want to get more involved with them but will reach out to other dealership. If I can switch my order to a new dealer without having to start from zero I would have done so, but for now am stuck with this people. Unfortunately the family members with extra vehicles are too far away from me. Thank you for your input, I will reach out to a dealership I saw someone post, even though is two hours away from me, I rather have reliable/trust worthy people.

Ignore the grammar Nazi.
You're asking for legitimate advice and for someone to demean your writing style is inexcusable.
I'd say look around for interim transportation keeping in mind that you'll probably get at least what you paid for it when your Mav comes in and it's time to sell the interim.
At any event, don't give up on the Maverick. It is worth the wait.

I don't even know if it matters anymore whether you ordered a hybrid or ecoboost. Seems the ecoboost order advantage has passed by.

Buy something to get yourself by until your Maverick is built. In the market we are having right now you should be able to sell the interim vehicle for what you paid for it. For resale if you can find a cheap pickup they are the hottest selling used vehicle right now.

I don't see why some people got an email from Ford after thier order was placed and get step by step update emails while some ordered and got nothing. Zip. NADA.
As far as I can tell it seems to be about 2 months from the time of scheduled to be built to delivery to the dealer. Or am I wrong?
