Back in September, right after the order bank opened up, Ford announced less than expected dealer allocation allowances. I think this is why some dealers took more orders than they were allowed. The story back then was that Ford was going to revise the allocations. Has anybody heard any news on this?

Here's what I think on that. All based on what I see and maybe I'm right or wrong. If you ordered from a legit dealer ( one who sells @ MSRP w/no markup and price protected to cost @ time of order as printed on order request) and you received a conf. email from FORD, your going to get your maverick. the COVP protects FORD and legit dealers from the dirt ball dealers {who would have lined up their pockets with orders from fictitious customers. } and it gives the customer the best chance of getting the vehicle @ MSRP. I believe IF you got the confirmation of order email, you are in line and you may get it soon or not but you will get it.

I am not totally sure when and if I might receive the Maverick I ordered. I assume my dealer is legit. I gave them a $500 deposit. They gave me a tentative out the door price at msrp with no additional markup. However, I received the 45 day notice that puts me on hold. I assume it is because on option constraints.

Ford didn't tell all dealers until the order banks were almost closed. And then did revise and send out new expected allocations a week or two later.

Constraints will be a major issue. EBs don't look too bad, but for the hybrids, it certainly looks like there are more orders than Ford will be able to build.

The 45 day notice in and of itself does not put you on hold. It is a notice from Ford that your order is still active in their system and that this status will be confirmed in 45 more days if you have not heard otherwise from them.

Receiving a confirmation email from Ford only means that your salesperson typed in your email address correctly with no typos. I never got one, but now I have a VIN, order sheet with msrp price, etc.

I ordered from a smaller dealership. My salesman said he thinks Ford is selecting some smaller dealerships for allocations because they received few, if any, last time around. He also said I'm lucky - hey I'll take it.

I always marvel at the amount of blatant speculative posts on this forum. I wish there was a filter to block all posts containing:

The SNR here is remarkably bad relative to most forums I have spent any appreciable time in. Anyways, this is complete and utter nonsense. You are completely ignoring the fact that the number of orders Ford has for Maverick hybs is far greater than their capacity to build.

So, does this mean you will be leaving soon?

Ya I don’t think that’s true at all. Why do I think that, look at 22MY. Thousands of people got order confo’s with COVP and didn’t get a 22MY. An order conf won’t matter if they don’t have the parts.

So what you were saying is I should probably contact my dealer and ask him if they received a revised allocation amount?

All I know is that I ordered my 23 Lariat hybrid on the first day, gave a $1,000 downpayment, received the confirmation e-mail, and received the 45-day notice. If Ford can not honor my order, took more orders than they can produce, and can not deliver my 23 I am done. I need a good vehicle within the year and I will be finding something elsewhere. This procedure is totally unprofessional and pure BS. I've owned 10 Fords in my lifetime and will never own another if this is the way they do business. I understand constraints and shortages but why not take orders for what you can produce and if the availability of parts improves reopen orders?

Model Year 2023 process will improve. It couldn’t have been worse. I’ve said it before, I cannot wait for 22 Model Year disaster to end. FORD brand name reputation did itself no favors in many ways. Ultimately I pick them over any other because they provide and have provided me in the past what I want. The Maverick is proving to be a generational hit for all the right reasons. It sucks many are on the receiving end of FORD’S decision to allow a percentage of loyal customers basically get shafted.

Actually heard a local Ford ad today that mentioned dealer allocations. No doubt the results of a MTC forum educated public. 👌

Ya I was lucky enough to see the Mav online June 12th. Ordered it and got it 10 months after that. I know see I was very lucky to stumble across it so early.
