"Some people have noted that when they hit a deer, or semi truck their truck no longer functions."

Well where I live hitting deer is a viable alternative hunting method. . . Guess I'll have to go with the Santa Fe.

2600 miles in and ZERO problems or issues. No complaints. I love this truck.

...One would imagine. However Ford doesn't want to hear from or address the issues we see as parts guys- and we see it all. We have an FMC forum to discuss issues amongst each other but trying to get any kind of input/response let alone a fix from anyone at Ford is like screaming into the void.

If you think Ford cares AT ALL about what complaints the dealers have to deal with, just look at how they handled the DPS6 Focus/Fiesta clutch debacle. They don't care.

I think Ford is going the same direction as a lot of other large corporations. They don't want to hear what the consumer wants, they are going to tell you what you want. And they're large enough to get away with it. The question is for how long.

All this being said, I just bought my first new vehicle, a 2022 Maverick XL AWD because all things considered they still make great products.
I retired just as that DSPS was coming into existence. Men and women I worked with moved over to that program they knew it was a turd from day one. The common reply from management was shut up and make it work. No amount of presenting facts made any difference it was shut up.

The premise was other if companies make the dry clutch work/feel good we can too of course the other transmissions cost 3-4 times as much but never mind.

There was eventually a story in 2019 from Detroit newspapers out lining the issues.

Ive only had mine a few days but I’ve had no issues. Just learning the ropes on it as well with all its features. I’ve done mostly town driving so mpg isn’t great but it’s still breaking in and on its first tank of fuel.

Picked up mine on October 10, and with about 1000 miles had no mechanical issues—that wasn't caused by me. :p Seriously, the truck's fit and finish were better than expected, and performance has been very good. MPG average reasonable with my driving. My 100 mile trips to Tyler and back have been averaging about 28.3 mpg. My local driving in rural East Texas have been averaging about 24.5 to 26.1. Better than the nominal 20 mpg our 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan.

I did discover someone with a hitch ball, or something, on the back on their vehicle, backed into my hitch plate and dented it slightly, but did not scratch the paint. I bent it back into shape with an 18" pipe wrench, again without scratching it. Not noticeable unless you know it's there—I do.

There will always be some problems. I learned from Marketing years and years ago in college, negative things always get me mentioned as compared to positive things. I think it was about 5 to 1 negative to positive. So keep that in mind, problems are a small percentage, but those are the ones you hear making you think it is widespread.

I’ve had my Maverick since the 23rd of December, I drive it 65 miles a day - 6 days a week. I have no issues at all with this truck. So far so good! 👍🏼

Other than the seat belt and the gas tank, I will let you know as soon as mine gets scheduled, built, delivered
