I bought my Mav in May of this year and connected it to my home wifi network the day I parked it in my garage. I just checked tonight, and it is definitely on my network. It has not received an update since day 1. Perhaps I am too used to regular Windoze and Linux updates on my computers and expect an occasional update from Ford. However, I would be interested in hearing from anyone else that has received any firmware updates for ther 2025 Maverick. In my case, it's a hybrid.

Nope and I would not expect any unless Ford's hand is forced via TSB or recall.

Ford is not Tesla, they are not actively improving their Sync 4 software. They aren't listening to customer suggestions or trying to improve upon what is being offered. Sync 4 is about to turn 6 and is on it's death bed for Ford.

I see lots of updates reported from the Lightning guys these days, but does not appear that development work is extending to the ICE counterparts.

lightning does not run Sync 4.

The Mav does. You won’t see any updates for expanded functionality. Ford would advise you to purchase a more expensive model.

Coming to the Mav from a Tesla there are very few updates that were useful or meaningful to me. They did push a software update to the app so it wouldn't wake up the car. That was useful, but not something that was pushed to the car. Most of the interesting updates they pushed required premium connectivity... IE paywall. I am happier with Carplay/Android Auto support and keep the ever changing tech stuff external to the vehicle. Tech dates a vehicle fast and support is non-existent long term usually. Looking at what is in Sync I don't see a lot that they can push that would be very useful to me. Maybe better Carplay/Android Auto support? :) The basic screen controls are tolerable and function as they should so far. If it isn't broke don't fix it?

I put 24k on a M3LR. I’m not upset with sync4 or the performance of the 25s infotainment I’m just telling you to temper your expectations as far as any real upgrades or improvements go.

I am perfectly content with the Maverick the way it is. They don't need to give me a Christmas drop, fart sounds, a karoke machine, or video games... I am good. LOL

well now that you mention it, a built-in fart sound app would be pretty damn funny

Im right there with you there’s a reason (well many) that I don’t own it anymore.

They did drop some decent upgrades over my 1.5 years of owning it. Battery range, charging times, and acceleration all improved while owning it so that was cool.

But most was just fodder.

I’m currently waiting for my fart sound “app”. Unfortunately not free from the Ford App but $800 from Borla 💨

Agreed there were a few things they added that were an improvement, but most of it was to keep people entertained looking for updates. Ford needed to push some serious updates to the EVs and they finally started doing that. Not all were backwards compatible sadly. At the moment I really don't have any complaints or wishes on my list for the Maverick since the navigation and everything is external to the Maverick. It would be nice if they figured out the 12v draining issue, but otherwise the Maverick is performing very well. Good range on a tank of fuel and no stress. Life is good!

Don't forget the "light show"... Nothing funnier than a bunch of cars doing the Macarena light show and farting at the same time... LOL This is the kind of stuff Tesla entertains its owners with.

Really? So what version of Sync does the Lightning use?
