Anyone found a Forscan option to allow text input in Android Auto while in motion? I guess its be something to disable the speed lockout signal?

Didn't see it discussed anywhere. The swings discussed for the built-in navigation don't seem to help with Android Auto.

Thanks,
-Evan

I presume your passenger is the one entering it manually while you're in motion, so just have them use your phone and open maps and type the address. Don't sleep on the speech recognition (the microphone symbol in the text field), it works very well and is much faster than typing.

Yes, it locks out at a certain speed. Not sure what exactly because I swear it changes. But anything over 10mph it's probably not going to let you enter text UNLESS you were already in the text field before that.

But as stated, your phone still works for it. And the voice to text feature works great. Just be as specific as possible. As it really has it's own mind.

Thx for the replies. Ya the voice works great, love it. Just don't always want to mess with it, wanted to see if anyone found a way to disable this particular safety feature, like you can for the built-in nav.

It's not the truck it's safety feature in Android Auto checking truck is in drive. Others in different vehicles reporting same even if not moving while in drive. They claim keyboard displays if parking brake is set. No one reported about what happens in neutral while rolling (at speed?). Maybe change that in AA settings???

Not in my 2024 lariat at least. it doesn't disable when you're in drive, it's when you get going a couple miles an hour.
I am assuming this is based on some input from the truck though, cuz it'd be weird if it was just based on a GPS calculation..

It's possible that AA in his vehicle is not configured the same as yours or is not even the same release. Too many variables. I did read where some stated they had to have their (not a Maverick or even Ford) parking brake set. He may just need to update AA to most recent version.
