The other day my wife and I had some errands to run and took her Bronco Sport. My phone battery was down, so I plugged it in. Android Auto came up as expected and I noticed there was a Ford icon available that takes you to normal radio mode that isn't on the Maverick. I've updated my phone, apps, and checked the truck for updates but no Ford icon available.
Can anyone explain why? That's a pretty handy thing to have instead of needing to exit AA to access the radio.

I have a Lariat (sync 3) and I have the Ford icon that takes me back.

Haven't had the need to, but think there is an "Exit" in the apps tray (grid/context button x2). Using that gets you out of AndAuto and back to base home screen.

I think based on whether it's Sync 3 or Connected Touch Radio (XL, XLT, non-Lux Lariat) the icons/name are different.

I hit the audio button on my dash to "exit". Still takes another button or two to get to radio though. Poor design for sure.

No pause on steering wheel. No mode cycle.
On Toyota you can use mode to cycle radio/xm/AA and hold for pause.

My one tip I've found - tap power button to pause AA audio. Have to restart via same button though. Again, poor design.

Not sure if it’s the same for android auto, but with CarPlay this button brings me back to the Ford radio screen:

The mute button will generally act as pause. With the bigger info display dash at least you can change audio source through the menu, but admittedly that's a lot of button pressing.

With Sync 3 there is a FORD icon. Not sure on the XL or XLT. on sync 3 hit the 9 dots in the lower left hand corner and all the apps including the FORD come up. Hope that helps.
