Android Auto Question

Every time the phone is plugged in, the maps pop up. Is there a way to bypass this?

If you hit the speaker button on the dash you can pick from AA, audio screen, etc.

AA will still run in the background and if you are navigating you will get the voice prompts.

At least on the Lariat.

There should be some buttons on the screen below that where you can select Audio but again it's that way on the Lariat. Don't know about the XLT.

Not able to check at the moment but there is an option in the menu to not launch AA when you plug in your phone right away and stay on the Audio screen. Then if you tap on the AA button it will take you to your map app of choice (Waze for example)

I'd hope that it defaults to the audio screen until I ask maps for directions. Maybe there is a shortcut to back out of maps, but I do this by hitting the lower left icon twice, then exit.

Loving the Maverick though, a much more solid, quiet, great handling & comfortable car/truck than I was expecting. Took 54 years to purchase my 1st new vehicle & absolutely love it!! My dad talked me into using Glare Polish which is supposed to last 5 years, I'd highly recommend it!

Finally got it!

On the stereo display I hit Android Auto preferences then turned off "Show Android Auto on Connection".

Hopefully this helps other inept people like myself!
