I'll be getting an S22 tomorrow. Wouldn't it be ironic if it rolled me backwards and took CoolWalk away from me?
Well......dang. I cursed myself. I need to play around with it a bit more, but it sure looks like I lost CoolWalk when I upgraded from an S20 to an S22 today. Going to poke at it to see if my versions are suddenly old or something. But man that stings if they took it away from me after having it the last couple days!

So......next morning after a TON of Android/T-Mobile/core phone software updates.

I have officially lost CoolWalk when upgrading from an S20 to an S22. ALL the versions of ALL the relevant aspects of Android and Google are EXACTLY the same as on my S20. I literally have the S20 and the S22 sitting here side by side and the version listings are exactly the same.

So Google has some mystery method of rolling it out. Since it clearly is not simply based on version of Android Auto or some other core Android operating system version present. And it is not tied to a Google User's Account/login, since I am logged in to my same Google Account on the new phone as I was on the old phone.

I assume I will see CoolWalk reappear for me eventually, but it really does sting that I got a taste and then it went away. Haha.

Well that sucks for sure. Sorry 😔.
Still don't know why it appears to work in Mazda and not Maverick.

Android Auto I have is 8.6.6250
sideloaded on my s20. Later ver than on my son's latest pixel phone. Which is 8.5.xxxx

Neither one works in Maverick.

Both work in Mazda?

Thanks what I still don't understand.

Confused 🤔

See.....that is weird. I would think the folks in the beta would be the first to get/keep it. Did you have it in beta and then it went away? Or were you in the beta and never got it to begin with?

Anyone else see CoolWalk roll out to them in the last few weeks? I am still suffering with the lingering sweet taste of CoolWalk from earlier this month before I upgraded from my Galaxy S20 to S22. Really lame that upgrading to a NEWER phone results in a rollback of features......

I now obsessively check for software updates on my phone. Just in case. But no dice. Maverick is still stuck back in "Pre-CoolWalk" status.

Thank you for the info. This is interesting. So, it looks like cool walk chimes with Android auto 8.6+ my version is still on 8.5xxxxx. I did find an apk that you can download, but I think I'll just be waiting. I hope Android auto isn't limited to the most recent version of Android. (I doubt my phone will have another update)
Well....I'm on 8.6 now and no sign of cool walk. Anyone know how to get this up and running. When it is updated, does it automatically switch to cool walk?

None here either. Like I said earlier, Verizon users (like me) usually are the last to get newer software releases and features - often weeks or months after other carriers.

I'm not sure that it's carrier specific, especially something that play store related.

That said, darned if I know where the switch is for cool walk.
