Android Auto "COOLWALK" split screen (public stable release) working on my base XL Maverick!

Thanks for replying. When you say server roll out, what server are you referring to? Google?

So its OEM specific as it works on Mazda?
and some Mavs, I guess depends on phone?

Think of it like this. CoolWalk is totally live for anyone with a reasonably recent version of Android Auto. They have a list of let's say..... 50 million Android Auto users. But....they have not authorized all 50 million to use CoolWalk yet. So they have a script running that "activates"/authorizes CoolWalk for 10,000 of those users per hour (just an example, not real numbers). Google is just running down the list turning it on for users. Versus slamming all 100% of the population with CoolWalk all at the same time.

Also remember that Verizon is the slowest adopter of new software. Chances are that every carrier will have Coolwalk before Verizon users do.

I'm betting two weeks before I'll have it.

Same boat here, Still waiting and I have Verizon so that could be the delay. Pixel 2 with Android 11 and still no update.

Interesting... I have a Pixel 6 Pro, and CoolWalk was working in a 2023 Expedition that I rented over the holidays. It's not activated yet in my 2022 Maverick or my 2021 Expedition though.

Yeah, hearing that it worked on one vehicle but not another (with the same phone) does sound a bit odd. It is my understanding that if your phone has it, it has it. Assuming the vehicle screen size and aspect ratio can handle Coolwalk.

Yeah. I would expect Google to roll out by device. This would mean they would have to have flags in the software itself that trigger the UI update based on each car you're connected to, and that the app is essentially running multiple versions at once. I just figured Google had a ledger and randomly (or intentionally) selected groups to push the update to.

Thanks, but that's my point, I sideloaded the latest version of Android Auto. Works as advertised in Mazda but not in Maverick? Also sons pixel phone does not work in my Mav split screen but works in his Mazda as does my Samsung S20.

I have an S20 and it works for me (I am the OP ). But I'll be getting an S22 tomorrow. Wouldn't it be ironic if it rolled me backwards and took CoolWalk away from me?

What's your latest Google Play Services update on your S20? I'm still on the November update and don't have the Coolwalk update.

Hmm. I have the same version Play Services. Is your Google Play system update still November under Settings > Android version.
