FINALLY purchased 6x10 cargo trailer to do my camper build and went to GA to go pick it up yesterday. (This will be an ongoing project. Will post photos once completed.)
On the way to GA doing about 60-65mph on back road highways rather than the interstate, my Maverick again pulled an astonishing 38-39mpg...this is an Ecoboost, mind you. This is the second time I've pulled numbers like this. My usual highway mileage driving 70-75mph is about 33-34mpg.
Once an 1100lb cargo trailer was added, the Maverick handled it like a champ - really didn't notice the added weight. Speed still kept steady at 60-65mph (it's been a LONG TIME since I last pulled a trailer, so I was being overly cautious) but the mpg leveled off to 18-19mpg. Overall, I have no complaints for this little truck. Take THAT, Tacoma!
Thought it was interesting that the sensors in the truck recognized towing a trailer. Usually when I fill my gas tank, it registers at 442-450 miles until empty. When we stopped outside of Jacksonville to fill up with 1/4 tank, the tank registered at 277 miles until empty.
Safe travels to all, and ENJOY YOUR MAVERICKS!
