I had a 2023 Tremor XLT+Lux that I sold when I knew there was an AWD Hybrid coming down the line. I am going to be trailering my new Maverick to my house tomorrow so I can apply Fluid Film rust protection before subjecting it to the salt barrens of Ohio roads in the winter.

I know others have had similar threads but wanted to start one to answer any questions that 2025 order holders or prospective buyers may have.

I will try and organize questions and responses in a way that can be useful for users moving forward.

2025 Lariats (and possibly other models) have improved insulation between the engine bay and front doors.

It now extends from top of door to bottom. Fairly flimsy but much improved over what was there.

Congratulations on your new Maverick. When you get a chance post some pictures of the whole truck.

I was in a battle with @Nw_adventure about a difference between AWD systems and I must say the hybrid is not the same as the 8F35 for low speed off road.

It took an exceptional effort to get the AWD hybrid up on 4 ramps. As it barely fits in my garage I was attempting to walk it up the ramps slowly and if I didn’t get up on the flat part of the ramp is rolled back immediately with zero resistance.

Overall I love it. Hard to quantify the improvements from 2023 XLT + Lux to 2025 Lariat.

Sticker on my 23 Tremor XLT + Lux was 34,800. 5k more and losing the dual clutch RDU is a steep ask but to me they are two entirely different vehicles and the 2025 Lariat is excellent.

How many miles you put on your Tremor, the hybrid seems to be a good way to go if putting miles on

I put roughly 13,000 miles on my tremor in less than 10 months. Loved the Tremor but I was averaging 25mpg on 93 octane which was about 20-21mpg.

The MavBrid made sense to me

looks like your going to get the weather to ck it out. I got my 23 Tremor on a whim, had awd on order forever, tired of waiting back then

Congrats on the new truck! I have a Lariat on order but I test drove a Tremor and really liked it. What made you go with the Tremor originally? Did you ever use it offroad?

Some folks were saying the power meter is not available and that’s not true. It’s just buried and not on by default. Once selected it stays on.

I ordered an XL hybrid back in October 2021 and it was never going to get built so when they introduced the Tremor I decided to convert my order to it. Honestly I never expected to buy it but when it came in I loved it.

I had a Bronco before and we’ve got a 21 degree hill in our yard that I used as a litmus test for capability. In 4 low the Bronco walked right up it and could be driven straight on.

The Tremor barely cleared the approach and it was a pretty extreme angle to take. Regardless of drive modes I could not get it up the hill. But using the off road control and setting it at 3mph the Tremor moaned and groaned and then shot up the hill.

It’s not an off roader in that sense but I have property in western NC on top of Rich Mountain (4,715ft) and the last mile up is privately maintained gravel roads that it excelled at.

The RDU and advanced AWD in the Tremor is awesome and I wish it could be paired with a hybrid. Suspension was also much better than this current lariat I’m in.

I really loved the Tremor for everything except it got about 25mpg on premium fuel (I won’t drive an ecoboost on anything less). When the AWD Hybrid was all but confirmed I sold it after 14k miles and a bit more than a year for $3,100 more than I paid for it.

In the end - I need AWD but wanted the efficiency of the hybrid. The updated interior and technology (360 cameras), 4K tow, and appointments that come with the Lariat are icing on the cake for me.

I think 25MPG is decent for a Tremor. When I test drove the 25 Tremor I was very impressed compared to my 22 XLT. The suspension was very smooth and the cabin noise was greatly reduced. I'm hoping the 25 Lariat I have on order feels like the 25 Tremor. Did your Tremor handle bumps better than your current Lariat?

I would say absolutely rode better just soaks up the bumps. It’s not that the Lariat is bad at all the Tremor just is really compliant on road.

I don’t have any issues with the Lariat ride but the Tremor is definitely a cushier ride.
