Day 4 of owning my hybrid and already running into a couple of issues. First the passenger side door seems to channel the rain from the roof into the main cabin when opening the door. It rained heavily yesterday and today. This can be an issue with molding in the carpet later. I don’t know if there’s a fix for it. Secondly, the latch holding the back seat to the frame did not latch on. And the window seam did not get properly seal from the outside. I posted a few pics to indicate the issues. I guess I gotta make that trip to the service department. Sigh….

The side of the vehicle has a slope, water is going to drop in when you open the door. I've yet to own a modern vehicle that doesn't do that. Never seemed to be a problem. :cautious:

As for the QC issues, yeah that would bug me too.

I own an 06 Acura and it doesn't do that. I have no issues with little water pouring in but a whole stream. Now that is an issue.

The back seat latch I have to pretty much slam it for it to lock.

Same here with the windows. The seals seem to fill up with water. You can press on them after rain and more will come out.

Not making excuses but Mavericks are near the same MSRP as the eco sports. They are the cheapest vehicles Ford makes. Plus first year they are out so bound to be some tweaking. Good news for the people being pushed to 2023 models.

I tried slamming and it wouldn't latch. Either the latch is broken or the hook just wouldn't release to grab onto that thing bolted to the back frame. Either way I'm bringing it back to the dealer to get it fixed. Can someone take a picture of the rear seat latch. Both the hook and the latch itself. Thanks

Back seat is to be closed on passenger side to insure proper latching, see manual.

For the latch issue see: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/rear-seat-not-latching.14321/#post-282711

I recall seeing post in past about the water, be surprised if they a fix for that.
Good luck at your dealer, it’s a roll of the dice if they provide loaner or rental vehicles now days
I thought we decided the solution to the seat latch was to slam it? Dunno about the water, maybe check to make sure the weatherstripping is properly installed/seated.

That might be a solution but I don’t have to slam mine

Seem to be what the Maverick does when there is heavy rain, I think mine does that somewhat as well. 🤨 Until I saw your video I had no way to know how much volume you were talking about! I've always gotten water dripping on the seats of modern cars when I open the door, but nothing like that.
